Oslo.
It's a pitty that Sweden never held a winter olympics, and probably won't within a loooong time. Sweden is after all a pretty good wintersport nation with good facilities and climate, and Sweden usually take good concern about envoirmental issues and is compared to a lot of countries low on corruption.
There is just too much negativity around the olympics here I guess, there is a lot of people in Sweden who is pretty disinterested in sports and dont want to be a part of the costs around this.
But the Norwegians would make a great olympics.
Oslo IMO.
Why in the hell is Beijing in the running again?
but where? Ostersund/Are is the only logical possibility. But currently the olympics committee grants games to bigger cities or the resorts near bigger cities.
I think one part is that the people in charge in Sweden is a bunch of very inbred amateurs, figuratively speaking. They appoint friends, cant produce a viable budget and are known to not know how to do things in a professional way.
Canada has held the Olympics at a 12 year interval, so has the US
I get your point but it was 22 years for Canada. Calgary '88 and Vancouver '10.Canada has held the Olympics at a 12 year interval, so has the US

Oslo, Norway seems to be the biggest hockey nation of those listed.
Oslo, so I could go.
I think it really hurts Beijings chances that Peyongchang hosts the 2018 games, and Tokyo the 2020 games.
So Id probably go with Poland or Norway. Tbh, I have no idea of the winter sport facilities in Poland, but whatta heck.
Looking at the info, found out that alpine skiing would take place in Slovakia. Otherwise, Zakopane is very well-known skiing facility.
Norway would actually be the worst country from this perspective IMO.
They have a program that is getting stronger. I believe Norway will qualify for the tournament without needing the help of being hosts. Thus, by having their team already playing, the interest will come with that.
You want a country that is unlikely to qualify on their own to generate buzz about the sport in that country. China, Ukraine, and Poland would be the places where that could happen--more so Ukraine and Poland because I think China would pump up sports like speed skating more than hockey.
Disagree, I have zero interest in watching China get embarrassed in the Olympics, and take away a spot from a fringe team that may actually develop an interest.
