You’re making assumptions they will miss the playoffs, what if they’re better, that could be an alternative assumption, what if they get the pick back, at the end of the first, like NJ did. Lots of things could happen.

Ok if they are better, they’re going to draft 25th-28th? Wow what a profit! The guy 21st OA from a poor draft could be so much better than the 27th from what is apparently a pretty good draft class….

Typical answer from somebody who is completely out of arguments and substance lmao
Not out of arguments, typical response from someone that thinks they are the only one that is right. You ignored all the substance that doesn’t agree with you, as Nolan said boo hoo.

everyone has laid out there arguments on both sides, for months, 😂 you’re crying about the decision the Sens brass made.

Lots are fine with it, and some disagree with it, that’s life and you move on.

You made dozens of assumptions that may or may not happen, sure your be the glass half empty all the time, but look at both sides, like the brass did, and they’ve made a choice.

You whining about it doesn’t change it , or make your “what ifs” correct. We won’t know for a year.

A 2026 first does this current team no good unless it’s moved, but it’s likely better to restock the cupboard, since it’s bare than waiting yet another year.

Maybe stop attacking people if they don’t agree, you forgot your go habs go.

I’m going to side with the brass on this one, as they have a better feelings with how discussions have gone with the league, and maybe they want a prospect in the pipeline sooner.
Only hindsight will tell.

Yikes. I expect both the Rangers and Bruins to push for playoffs spots next year, along with Montreal. We're not guaranteed a playoff spot. Worse yet, one or two big injuries and we end up in lotto territory.

I get Staios wants to show confidence in the team and all that, but the worst case scenario here would be devastating.

The Bruins aren’t pushing for anything, and the Rangers are on their way down and will need to rebuild that locker room at the very least. The Habs could push again sure.

Keeping pace is probably why we aren’t kicking our assets down the road.

Personally, I was hoping they would forfeit this year’s pick but seeing what Staios has done to salvage something from Dorion’s horrible blunders I have trust that he has a plan to keep things moving forward.

It's not a loser mentality, it's just risk/reward evaluation, which is what any smart team does when making any significant decision.

Exactly, anyone who ever had a serious job before understands this. And this is why I am surprised with the decision. This franchise has been burnt soooooooooo many times in the last few years with Dorion's mismanagement, I'd try to minimize the risks at all costs for a while.

I say this and maybe they have a case in point with the league and are already negotiating. I personally don't believe in fairies so it's a sunk cost for me already but who knows? It has to because if not, it's a very unnecessary risk.

Fingers crossed that all of Stutzle, Sanderson, Chabot and Batherson are healthy all season again. I am going to be optimistic and expect us to finish out of the bottom 10 but giving up another Top-10 pick would actually be be very hard to overcome. The margins for error have all been burnt under Dorion and then some.

And like you said, maybe Staios is gambling on this because he wants to instill some swag... but as we saw all season, we're still a bit of a fragile team.

I have a decent amount of faith in Staios, which is a lot more than Dorion (which was negative). I hope he has something under his sleeve. But that possiblity of giving up another Top-15 pick is a bit stressful.

Glass half empty all the time? lol not at all and I'm pretty confident in the Oilers right now who are now my 2nd team since last year.

You were the one intruding yourself as I was simply answering Nac Mac Feegle's question. I then asked you a LEGIT question : "Ok if they are better, they’re going to draft 25th-28th? Wow what a profit! The guy 21st OA from a poor draft could be so much better than the 27th from what is apparently a pretty good draft class…."

Your answer : "Lol, cry to someone else."

Then in the current post, you're tying to lecture me? lol you must be 14 years old mentally or maybe BPD, particularly when I see this below :

Maybe stop attacking people if they don’t agree, you forgot your go habs go.

First, where have I attacked anybody? Maybe you should stop projecting? As you first quoted me using "lol" then the "cry to someone else"... I don't want to be a debbie downer but it's pretty typical from a BPD

And with the Habs comment, you're kind of making it obvious to me, particularly since you see me defend Sens players ALL THE TIME on the main boards, and against Habs/Leafs/etc fans. lol you're funny
