My argument was not that he was not a good player. My argument was that Yurov was the better prospect, which can certainly still play out and would be huge given how Faber turned out.

My specific comparison for Faber at the time was Hjalmarsson, a key piece to Chicago winning Cups. If that is calling Faber a bad player or a bad prospect then I don’t know what to tell you.

And I got shit talked endlessly for that.

So let me get this straight. You're allowed to be down on a player but others arent?

I think you need to re-read what I said.

Well it's just confusing because you're attacking people for having reservations about a prospect while defending having reservations about a prospect. Noone hated Stramel the player, maybe the pick which is understandable. Most hoped the best for him but we're concerned which I think is fair.

My guy, I interacted with these people for over a year. You have a really cozy view of what they were saying. It’s out of touch with reality.

No need to be condescending but sure, your view of faber was totally in touch with reality too.

You were very, let's say, 'passionate' about Yurov over Faber, and others disagreed. I don't think I ever thought of it as anything other than a discussion. Not sure why everything has to be whining, complaining or shit-talking.

Comparing Faber to a guy who was pivotal to his team winning multiple Cups was obviously me shitting on him in the same way many on here shit on Stramel (could’ve signed Nelson to do the same thing, 2028 comp pick #55 is gonna be great, lucky to get a 13th forward out of him, ECHL player, biggest bust in team history, etc etc). Totally the same thing.

Blah blah blah blah blah. Nobody else gives a shit about who said what and when, nor do they care about any sour grapes or interpersonal drama.

Let's go back to Jiricek and him as an organisational fit. I'd have him somewhere around Liam Öhgren at the moment; higher upside, but also more of a risk. If I had to rank prospects, I'd place him just above Liam right now based on ceiling, but it's close.

If Jiricek busts in Iowa like nearly every prospect that’s had any exposure to that cesspool , and the Wild miss the playoffs this year handing over a 1st rd pick in the 13-15 range…..is this the worst trade in Wild history? Also would that be enough for you Billy ball washers to turn on him???

This forum is more critical of Guerin than anywhere else on that internet where you’d see discussion about the Wild.

I agree because the average poster here knows the game pretty well and pays attention. I recall Guerin telling us when he took over he wanted to get younger and faster. He sold us on breaking up the country club and blah blah blah. Then he proceeded to build his own country club filled with old and slow players who are given miles of leash no matter how bad they are.

I guess I’m not the type that listens to promises made and then broken and attempts to run cover and view things through rose colored glasses.

It may not be "right" but I would place the average collective knowledge level of the users on this forum above the average collective knowledge level of Facebook and Twitter commenters.

Guerin has done some good things and he's done some not good things. For the most part I think he deserves the criticism he gets here.

Just looking at what this team looks like without Kaprizov, who he didn't bring in... never mind that he didn't bring guys like Spurgeon, Brodin, Ek, Boldy.

But he did bring in Rossi, Gus and Faber so credit there.

But he hasn't really built anything yet. Prospects tbd.

The more casual fans on social media just see a team that's sitting 5th in the league at this moment, and don't really think more about what went into building that and what Guerin's part in it was, they just give him the credit for it.

This was pretty bad. He talked a huge game when he first got here and he's really reverted hard on a lot of what he said.

Would make a great politician though.
