I've never had an offer I didn't make agreed to.

What do you figure a bottom pairing defenseman and 3rd line forward are worth exactly? Should I be offering multiple 1sts for a guy who would be our 5th best defenseman and a guy who would be our 9th best forward?

Taylor Hall went for a 2nd.

Yeah, don't use Hall as a value indicator.

He had a NTC and had full control over his destination and would only go to Boston.

He would have returned a first had he not ixnayed other deals.

Guess who else has a NTC. His name rhymes with Piordano.

There's a cap man. Seattle has to hit the floor and how many clubs can fit 6.75 without sending money back?
You do realize that the idea for Seattle is to maximize the value on Gio's return right. Gio @ 50% is absolutely fine for the Kraken to do. We can even bundle picks with it to maximize the value of the return. If Gio @ 50% + mid-round pick gets us that, we will do that. You want to send a bad contract back, sure, we can take that on too. But that will be a bigger ask as it needs to make sense from the Kraken POV. Also, Jarnkrok and Gio are arguably our best TDL pieces and it is unlikely we bundle them unless the return is really solid.

He can select 19 teams he can be traded to. So very likely its all 16 playoff teams + 3 non-playoff teams. Let's take the non-playoff teams out of the equation because Francis is not going to move him there. That is still half the league that he can be traded to.

Flames dont really need him though. Hanifin is a top pair guy. Kylington is playing extremely well. He'd be an upgrade on Zadorov but Zadorov is as physical player as there is in the game and has always played well in the playoffs.

Treliving said the Flames are likely to add a forward

and a quality forward it was

Could actually see this. Reunites him with Brodie. He'd have a huge impact there. Also Giordano's home town. He probably wants to play for the team he grew to cheering for at one point.
Makes sense on the ice from a fit perspective. I just don't see how they do the cap gymnastics to make it happen. They have 1.01M in cap space at the deadline. Not enough to acquire Giordano even flipped with retention from both teams. They'd have to get him flipped and retained twice and send a contract back. That could be a pretty steep acquisition.

Well, if Ritchie has been useless in Toronto, then perhaps Toronto would be well-served to include Ritchie in the package for Giordano and add an asset or two to unload that contract for the deadline and to give them even more breathing room for next season? If not Seattle, then Arizona seems 'open for business' as a landing-spot for cap. Not sure what the going rate is, however.
