I think the Rangers go for him, they need leadership and somebody hungry to win a Cup before the end of his career. Plus he solidifies their defense or he has declined too much?

Considering that Mtl is in dire need of leadership and that Petry and Chiarot (maybe edmondston) are leaving, i wouldnt be suprised if Mtl inquired.

Seems weird to say it but I don't think the Flames want him.

Might cause issues with leadership and our defense is set. Ya he's better than Zadorov but there's no pressing need to spend assets to upgrade Zad.

The Flames seem to have moved on and are doing decently without him. There's no reason to trade picks away for anybody right now.

To be fair, it'd be really funny if there was no market for him (clearly there will be) and they got him back for like a 3rd and B prospect. Just because of the outrageous ask Seattle had for us to keep him in the offseason.

Agree. Bringing people back seldom works. Flames have made it work without him. Save the assets.

While I have my doubts about his ability to do so, Francis has to adapt to market changes and adjust his deals accordingly. Unless he wants to get shut out again like did last offseason.

Nope. With Zad playing better of late, we aren't going to spend much to upgrade. If Gio wants to come back in the offseason at a huge discount to play 3rd pairing that's up to him

That would definitely be the cheapest way for the Flames to go.

Probably can't afford him next year and that would be blocking Valimaki again

True. He'd probably have to be coming back as a 3rd pairing RD (don't remember if he has any experirence doing that?).
