I mean its hockey, not the NFL.

They can lose due to pure luck. They beat Boaton.

Posting this so many times is just setting you up for anger, rage and sadness! oh my
Wait, so what you're saying is that we absolutely can't lose to a team lower than us in the standings after beating the top 2 teams in the West? And if the do lose, we should all panic because it means we're getting swept in the first round?

Am I doing it right?

Yegor playing without much confidence. I don't have faith but I like Shara so much as a Devil.

Assuming you cannot touch 91 - 13 - 90,
Timo gets Hughes - Bratt, pushing Palat to the 3rd.

Palat - Lazar/Haula - Boqvist

...and now...

McLeod (how hopefully punched you in the face with how valuable faceoffs were in OT) centering....

Bastian, Wood, Yegor, Haula...pick two.

Sharangovich is definitely out. Deservedly.

Boqvist looked great. He has really nice speed and skill and when you see him playing the way he was there it makes you wonder if he could pop off at some point.

Also think he should be one of the first expiring guys to get resigned in the summer as long as he’s reasonably cheap. Give him a few years too if he’s willing.

On the other hand Sharangovich might be on the out. Unless he’s willing to take a nice discount I’d trade him.
There is just no room for Shara long term or even after this year. He is a medicore player that is about 9th or 10th on the forward depth chart. He does not have a spot in the top 6 and is not a bottom 6 type player.
It sick’s to say it as I really like the kid but there’s just no room or need for him and what salary he will expect. He could still be a 2nd line option on a team with lesser depth I think.

Sharangovich should sit a game, he's been abysmal. BMW actually look good again, keep playing until they inevitably fall off.

Hill with a casual 3.05 GSAx tonight. f***ing lol.

We OWNED them tonight, don't really care about the result. Almost 3.5 xGF more than them.

Tonight is CLEARLY a positive in my mind.
The trendline is back up over the last few weeks. It's a very good sign, and Meier isn't even in the lineup yet.

Devils clearly deserved to win tonight. No issue with this performance.

Technically the second goal came across the middle too. Plus, it was one of their best goal scorers, left wide open. They got a great bounce on the first goal. Saving the penalty shot and that terrible PK should clear him over any boarder-line goal.

The third line gave up a bunch of turnovers and got the Devils pinned in a bunch. Rango looks lost. It’s hard to believe he has 12 goals.
Ranges 12 goals were long ago he has like 2 since December9

We shouldn't panic but losing to a Yotes team that is dysfunctional-as-fk would be humiliating to say the least.

Plus, let's say the Bolts beat the Canes in regulation...BOOM. There goes a lost opportunity to pull even with them for the Division.

Look...I would much rather face any other team other than the Rags in the first round because of the inexperience of our young players.

My point is to have them face a Non-Rags team in the first round, beat them (gaining the experience of winning Playoff games), and THEN they can face them should they also advance.

Facing them right off the bat is just asking for a one-and-done if Shesterkin went God Mode all of a sudden.

I would be utterly shocked if we didn't win the game in Arizona

I thought we'd win this one, but never figured we'd run away with it

I think we'll beat Arizona and BAD.
Just so you realize how hot Ingram has been recently... 1 legit bad game in 7 with that AHL D in front of him? He's very capable of pulling what we just saw.

100%. Losing is inevitable, losing like this and getting a point out of it is the best case scenario.

I don’t like anything about Sharangovich’s game and I’m tired of pretending I do. He has a good shot. He reminds me of a walmart brand late-Devil-career Kyle Palmieri; the only weapon he has is a shot which he uses too infrequently and positively cannot make for himself.

he’s not a good penalty killer. the eye test tells you that; the advanced stats back it up. he’s either unwilling or unable to put forth consistent effort in the defensive zone. He has no transition game. He forechecks once a game. He is consistently the reason a cycle dies in the offensive zone.

He isn’t near good enough to be a top-6 forward. He doesn’t do anything that you’d want a bottom-6 forward to do, so he can’t go there.

I just want him gone.

Who do you honestly put Lazar in for?

The 4th line is playing better the last couple games and even has some goals

You can’t play Lazar on the 3rd line. He barely scores at an acceptable enough rate for the 4th line. He’ll stifle that 3rd line.

I think we’ll still win

What we saw tonight hasn’t happened a whole lot this year

Once to Carter Hart and a couple of times against stupid Binnington

Losing 1 game to any team in the NHL is meaningless and there's nothing all that really embarrassing about it. The season is going too well to be fazed by one game performances.

The Bruins lost to the Yotes and they're having like the best season in the history of the league. That's what happens in a league with parity.

No one yet really. Maybe Bastian if the PK starts to concede but even then I'm fine with him sitting until an injury or someone is playing awful in the bottom 6.

Yeah but the point is to try and win the Division.

Losing to the Yotes won't help.

He will either get moved to recoup some assets, moved in a Zacha-Haula type trade, or moved for a player better equipped for the bottom six (like Ross Colton).

To me, he’s just a frustratingly mediocre player. In reality, he’s a good third line player, nothing less and nothing more. It’s just we have a bunch of guys on this team that have a clear role and excel at it. Sharangovich doesn’t really have a clear role and he’s just there most of the time.

no. When kyle was obviously going through the motions on a bad team, and the only thing he provided was goal scoring (which was rapidly drying up), that’s exactly who sharangovich reminds me of on his best day.

I personally don't care all that much if we finish 1st or 2nd in the division. We match well against the Rangers and they don't scare me at all even if they have some talent, because we do as well.

I don't think anyone here should be scared of the Rangers.

I'm not scared of the Rags.

What I am scared of is Shesterkin shutting us out or limiting us while the Rags get all the f'n breaks and beat us.

I don't think I can stand that happening which is why I want the Devils to win the Division so at the very least, they have a shot at getting past the first round and THEN if they should face the Rags, they'd be more seasoned to deal with whatever they throw at them.

Experience is very important at this juncture but I'd rather they don't go one-and-done. (Been there, done that in 2018)
