The trade didn't originally happen because of him. Just because he could affect the outcome of the second trade doesn't mean getting blindsighted by the first one didnt affect him in the way I described.
Also I dont think you know what a strawman is. Or false equivalence. So again: me saying factors a, b and c might affect the outcome y doesn't mean I accept the outcome y.
Trades are common in this sport but again it's a whole different thing being traded from your first NHL team that you were a part of for 10 years. You willingly turn a blind eye to this factors. They are there whether you like it or not as Rantanen is just human like others and he was blindsided by all this.
Fair point on calling out my error. I thought you were using "violence" as a dramatic device to knock down my point. My poor judgment.
That said, since you yourself said that you "don't accept the outcome," you are in a way implying that (while you understand the reasons for his moping) he needs to move on and play better for a team in which he wanted to be and getting the $$ he wanted. Would you agree on that? In a sport where this does happen frequently, if it's still "blindsiding" him now, then he needs to grow up. Yes, he IS human and all that- I get it. My question is: how long is he going to keep moping about it? At some point you have to be professional and move on, no?
