Kinda like if he went to Toronto? Haven’t done Dick in 50+ yearsHe'd basically be quitting for the rest of his career

Sign Hall and then trade Guadreau is the general sentimentWhy does Calgary need another LW? They already have Gaudreau and Tkachuk. Granted, I think Treliving makes plenty of bad UFA signings, but it doesn't make sense really.
can’t call 2017-2018 a bad season when you won the Cup
Ridiculous post.I don’t think anyone’s gonna give him the contract he’s looking for. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him take the same contract as Simmonds did last year looking to rebound and get a big contract next year. 1 year, lots of money to a bad team that looks to flip him at the deadline.

Neither of Colorado's guys are better than Holtby, that's just not true, unless of course your opinion is based off a season that didn't even finish which would be ridiculous
Who cares if the season didn't finish? Holtby played 48 games this season and had a 0.897 SV%, 52nd among the 57 goalies to play at least 20 games. Grubauer played 36 games and had a 0.916 SV%, good for 18th best. Francouz played 34 games, and had a 0.923 SV%, 6th best. I think that's a pretty decent sample size to try to figure out how they will most likely play going forward. There's no reason to pretend that Colorado will get pre-2017 Holtby when he very clearly hasn't been that guy recently.
Really you are going to base your opinion on 1 year? that's ridiculous by itself but especially ridiculous when that year didn't even finish
Ridiculous post.
Holtby has actually been very good this season IMO. He had 1 rough month around December/January but after that he was really really solid.

Cheaper, yes, better, debatableEdmonton can’t afford him, they aren’t paying Koskinen 4.5 the next 2 years to back up Holtby. Colorado has much cheaper/better options in both Grubauer and Francouz. So I don’t see the logic there.
To me Buffalo makes sense, though I don’t know how much money they want to throw at him with a Dahlin contract on the horizon.
Minnesota could offer him a 1 year deal to play behind the most goalie friendly system in the league and try and rebuild his value.

Because he isn't going to get the kind of money he wants long term after the year he just had.Why would he sign a 1 year deal?

He's been a below average goaltender for 3 years running. There's absolutely nothing elite about Braden Holtby right now.Yes,he is, because his overall body of work makes him elite, and he's won a championship.
Unless he chooses to leave money on the table to be the final piece he will get his money.
Goalies that A LOT less are making A LOT more
I doubt he stays in Washington but there aren't a ton of teams that need goalies, I think he could be the final peice for Colorado i think Edmonton kind of needs him too
These two conditions added with Grubauer AND Francousz stinking it up in the playoffs I could see happening.Bad time for Holtby to be UFA... Not trending that well and a flat gap growth. I suspect he takes a 1 or 2 year deal IMO. Doubt any NHL GM will offer him 5 years with a high AAV. Too risky
Sabres might be interested is the deal is 1 or 2 years at something around $5M AAV.
