Where are McDavid and Draisaitl when it matters?

Yes the league was handing out pp like candy at a Christmas parade. They are not so effective when they don’t have room to skate. Baffles the mind though, two extremely talented players. Plus a hot goalie can steal a series

McDavid's performance is exactly why I was on the pro-Crosby side in the recent thread about who was better at the same age.

Crosby was turning his game up several notches come playoff time, at an even younger age than McDavid is now. And this was quite impressive when you consider Crosby was also a beast in the regular season.

McDavid can score a million points against a weak North Division, with a half-million points on the PP.

But Crosby at the same age was a better overall player. At 5-on-5, and all the little things that help you win a hockey game.

One big reason is their efficiency on the PP and lack there of in the playoffs.

Rules change, whether refs want to admit it or how, there is obstruction, clutch and grab, hooking, etc and nothing gets called. Most penalties I've seen in the playoffs this year are players accidentally flipping the puck over the boards.

If you take away the Oilers PP, they are not nearly as effective as a team.

That said, they did have 3 power plays tonight and were not able to generate anything. They looked bad tonight on the PP.
