What, Berube wasn't cancelled for that speech? He swore out loud in the dressing room and was exhibiting classic male aggression... surely he'd be fired for that, no?

Obviously displaying toxic masculinity. If one thing certainly isn’t needed in this Leafs dressing room, it’s masculinity.

Been saying it for a while, anything short of a finals run and the team needs to go boom. Keefe, Shanahan and all the other off-ice personnel have to go. Try to get rid of Marner, Tavares and Rielly (unless you have to retain to much as is likely the case with Tavares).

I'd consider Nylander too. He's always pretty decent in the playoffs but they could get a haul for him. And if Matthews doesn't wanna gut it out for a re-tool, he can take a hike as well.

I think I've been pretty patient with the team, a lot of folks have, but these type of failures are unacceptable. I don't care how good the competition is, how banged up the team has been, how bad the refs have been. For the money spent, the way this roster has been constructed, we should have seen some sort of progression, some sign that they could contend.

Weak coaching, heartless players, and terrible management (who the hell looks at Treliving's body of work and decides to hire him!?) can't be excused anymore.

Are people really arguing that be has 2 more years on a contract and will not be fired? I am not 100% sure he'll be fired. I am more like 99% sure he'll be fired. It's a lot easier firing him than the other changes that need to be made.

Playoff hockey is boring actually. I am getting hockey fatigued this month. I like the run and gun leafs but they obviously need a coach like the avs.
After a good night's sleep I'm actually feeling great today. My summer has officially begun.
Now we can check in every so often to read about firings, hirings and trades.

Didn't even watch last night, I've seen that show 5 times lately and it really isn't that good.

Boy are you going to be disappointed.

LOL Biz to Berube - That's enough or I am going to break the news that you are going to be the Leafs next head coach.

You can then see the wheels turning in Berube's head and he looks speechless

I watch the playoffs but I haven't followed the regular season closely for the last 2 seasons. I don't care what these guys do in the regular season anymore. I prefer the NFL anyway during the NFL season. I catch a regular season game or 2 here and there when I'm bored, watched the last few to see if Matthews could hit 70. But yeah I'm still watching all the playoff games. And they're still not good enough.

If they make some major changes to this team, then I might get more invested in the regular season. Last few years, the regular season has been so meh to me.

I think whenever locker clearout day is, Keefe goes the same day. He was never getting fired after getting a two-year extension. I think Treliving gave Keefe a chance to run the team instead of Dubas micro-managing him and he did okay at best, but we still got the same result at the end of the season. I love Keefe when it's the regular season, but this team is not suited for the playoffs (which are not difficult to make with this team).

I watch the Saturday night games with friends.

During the week I typically watch the 1st and hit the PVR. The wife comes in and we watch something together and then she heads to bed. Then'll fast forward through the 2nd and part of the 3rd, and watch the last 10 mins if it's close.

Never bother with anything that starts after 8:00.

Maybe the management that is speaking a few days later is the new big boss telling us he went scorched earth and fired all of them

Just wanna get this out. I think Keefe is a good dude. I like him as a person, never disliked him as an individual i just didn't care much for dubas and his attitude. Keefe is also a class act in terms of showing courtesy to others.

I just wished he was more of a hard ass when it came to managing bench and players. I think he was neutered under dubas where players were given free reign - walking back comments and what not and Keefe was not wrong at all btw when he called some high aav players out for being shit

After I am a little calm now; I wouldn't mind if Keefe is back for one more year; its not like a new coach is gong to come along and all of a sudden Marner and Tavares will be conn smythe worthy players in the post season. Marner and Tavares are major thorns and IMO even Scotty Bowman woudnt get them going. Hell if Quinn was here he would have told marner to go sit in the corner and carry other players' luggage. Until these to anchors are off this team and their cap is allocated to the benefit of the team; Leafs aren't doing anything in the playoffs.

next year is a write off anyway so.......

If Keefe is back I want to see him be more FU to the players regardless of their AAVs if they suck ass and hold everyone in the locker room to same accountability yardstick. I mean might as well go out on your own terms, no point in being "nice" to the guys b/c of whom you are about to lose your job
