When does Keefe get fired?

I'm not here to crap all over him, but I'm also still surprised we brought him back for this year. Yes, we've been crazy good in the regular season with him, but he's been outcoached in every series, even the one we won. Look at last night alone, the combination of players on the ice for the first goal against. The juggling of lines, not just loading up in offensive situations, but back to his only move of "let's try this that we've never tried in the past." He doesn't have the depth to coach in big time series yet. It's time to get a guy who does... though I don't know who that looks like given those types are usually employed.

Keeping Keefe now makes no sense. We need to run Tavares and Marner off the team.he will be fired within a week but so will others. The fact is they took the perfect build by Lou and did nothing but waste everyones time. Every fan knew re running Samsonov and Keefe meant no cup.

Too bad this franchise is happy to just hit it and quit it. Disappointing for us fans. But that lack of urgency to compete is missing from everyone employed by this team.

They don't have a win at all costs mentality.

Consistent playoffs appearances should be the bare minimum for an organization with as much high priced talent as the Leafs. The standard for a team with a core this good should be higher than one and done every year. Unable to play a single game past the second round.

That's on the man who thinks respect in the handshake lineup is good enough.

Keefe had five years to take this team to the next level and could not. The average tenure of an NHL coach is 2.5 years. Keefe was given the longest leash of anyone else in the league and it went completely unjustified.

I don't care if the players like him or not I want a winning hockey team.

I don't entirely mind Keefe coming back but whoever the hell was in charge of the powerplay needs to go. Any single digit conversion rate is beyond laughable. 5% conversion rate for the laughs this series certainly make them deserve being called maple laughs.

They looked relaxed. They didn't look like they enjoyed themselves and had fun though.

Can't be a player's coach again.
 
Next year is a fine tune year. Strategic decisions will be made so that they can go for it one last time the season after. Rielly , Marner and obviously Tavares would not be part of that 25/26 team ideally, assuming they still want too much money. Coach isnt as important next season but making smart gm moves is. But still want a new coach to try.
 
Pelley should be the first presser and he should announce that Keefe and Shanny have been relieved of their duties and thank them for their services.

Then he should say, losing is not acceptable and changes will be made.

Then he should take questions.

That's Guy Boucher, I don't agree with firing him, but I do think he should be moved to coaching the PK, he's a defense first coach so the PP was always a odd spot to have him.

The worst part is that there are probably people in the Leafs FO debating if they should fire Keefe right now.

Cut that office down to size and stop the bloat you Fing basketcase org.

Why fire Tre who has been there less than a year?

"Has to"? Do you think all of TOR's issues need to get resolved in 1 offseason? Do you think all of TOR's issues will get resolved in 1 offseason? In my humble opinion it might take 5 or 6 years. What is the hurry? All these players are signed to long-term deals. JT and MM will likely be gone. Tre can use the money to build around winners (hopefully).

I think it’s a two yr process. They’ll make some significant changes to the roster this summer and it’ll take a year for that to gel. My hope is this off-season and the TDL will set them up for a decent run in 2025/26.

I noticed this as well, he must know his time here is at an end. I have never heard him refer to the team as "The Leafs", it was always "Us" "We"

Realistically he should've been fired seconds after the game was over last night. Gotta imagine everyone in the locker room felt that energy, knowing that massive changes are coming.

I can't imagine a scenario where Keefe and Marner are still on this team next season.

They'll probably let him answer the media on locker clean out day and then boot him, but real shit he should be gone already.

Tre is also the guy who screwed up Calgary and signed the Matthews and Nylander extensions and also thought Reaves and Klingberg were good deals.

I'd be okay if he gets thrown out with Shanahan.
