5.5m for Zibanejad is a bit much. I think he will get an offer a little south of 5m. 4.7m - 4.9m for 4 years.

Fast for 2m AAV sounds about right though

Here's my big thing with Zib -- if he asks for $5 million or north of that mark, there's no way you can justify giving him that money when a player like Nazem Kadri got $4.8 million per season. I think 4 x $4.75 million is a good figure because Zib would hit UFA at 28, and the length/term is the same as Shattenkirk's contract, so it fits the timetable the Rangers have as an organization at the moment.

Fast deserves a nice raise. I don't know the perfect number, but to me he's a third/fourth line spark plug who kills penalties and plays top-six minutes in a pinch. I'm thinking $2.5 million would be more than a fair salary for him.

I think a combined $7.5-8 million for both sounds correct.

4M real cap MUST include projections for Zibs and Fast. We came in with 15.6 in "real" cap.

I don't see Fast getting less than $1.75M. He has every intangible going for him. Locker room favorite, coach's favorite, home grown. Fast is going to be the harder contract to negotiate.

Not really when you're buying out UFA years. Bring it down to 5.25 or so if you want. 500k isn't much of a difference.
