Speculation: When Does Bruno Get The Boot?

When does Trotz pull the plug on Brunette?

Bruno … the shirt.

My metrics are:

10+ points out at game 41 = da boot
7+ points out at game 55 = da boot
miss playoffs after that = da boot

His shoes need to be made for walkin at this point. He has failed. Go rehab as someone's assistant and recycle in a few years. It's over for him with this group.

I doubt it will be a popular opinion, but watching the wings snatch McClellan up and start to turn their season around pisses me off to no end.

I don't really keep up with hockey news much anymore, so I didn't really know who else was available, but if he was out there while we suffer through is steaming pile of horse shit that is a "system", that is an absolute abomination.

This ride f***ing sucks.

Staying with Bruno is so incongruent with the offseason "win now" and youth jettisoning moves I am wondering if Trotz accepts the season is long lost and a new coach won't change that now but maybe a repeat freak 19-game streak from Bruno could?

I don't see a 19 game winning streak in these guys. There is only so much emotional adrenaline and pushing back that can overcome a lack of talent, cohesiveness, and system. Although I appreciate Willy, Mace, and the others preaching it on endless loop from the pre-game show to the post-game show. We don't have any depth or balance and there has been too much roster churn for the sake of roster churn for the players to really develop as a team, imho.

There is no run coming. Injuries are starting to creep in, Trotz launched his depth to the moon, so now his option are going to be more tweeners and AHL level players. I expect the end of this season to look more like that year we drafted Jones than anything else we've seen in recent history. Hopefully this time we actually get a center.

I don't see 19 more wins this season. We went on the road and went 2-4.

It's funny how the broadcast team said we were 2-2 on this trip until last night. Depends on what you mean. Sure, they were 2-2 because they came home after the first game against the Blues, it still doesn't change the fact that they went 2-4 in their last 6 on the road.

I'm having a hard time watching because at the end of the first, the guys looked defeated and didn't seem to care.

Another thing that drives me crazy is you're not winning games the way you're playing. The fourth line is supposed to be the identity. For as much as the staff and broadcast team like hits, I've never seen a fourth line pull up on so many potential checks just to let the other team know we're there. I think it was in the third and one of their D moved the puck and McC was right on top of him and gave him a nudge. Dude, you're 6'6" and supposed to be physical, lay the body on someone. It might just you know, energize the team, get their team off their game. But no, drive by, hey, how's it going, your kid is growing up just fine, my wife is doing a fantastic job.

I agree, I'm just trying to wrap my head around thought processes that don't make any sense at this point.

Someone please explain to me why the coach will play youth on the blue line without hesitation yet give 8-10 minutes a night to other youth who happen to play forward? I thought Svechkov’s line looked great in the first yet got minimal minutes the rest of the game. A few minutes left in the game, down by a couple and the 4th line is getting minutes and the kids are still on the bench. Once Ovi scores the empty better, only then do the kids get ice time.

Looking at their faces on the bench they looked dejected. If they’re going to get treated like this, send them to Milwaukee and stop killing their development. I’d rather see them play than continue to be micromanaged the way they are, especially when the vets are making as many, if not more mistakes than them.

It’s maddening.

I'm not sure if our "youth on the blueline" is really all that "youthful"... inexperienced maybe, but... Blankenburg is 26, Stastney is 25. Barron at 23 might still be "youthful" I guess.

I don't know how Blankenburg has managed to be +8 during this trainwreck?

All caveats to the +/- stat acknowledged, it's always just funny when our team stats are showing all our great veteran "stars" at minus doubledigits (with Josi at -23), and then guys like Novak/Evangelista at just -2/-1 or even Blankenburg somehow at +8. I guess it is small samples (in games as in icetime/game). But still kind of funny. (Wilsby is +3, Jankowski is 0).

Yet, somehow it will be consistent if Jankowski is traded away for a lesser Jankowski and a draft pick 4 years from now.

Honestly, I would just like to see us buff up Milwaukee for a deep run in the AHL at this point.

Send enough players back to them to give them a killer lineup again. Go ahead and fill our NHL lineup with waiver pickups. We could have done that with oodles of guys who were on waivers recently... Kaliyev/Sprong/Puljujarvi/Wahlstrom up front, DeSimone/Coghlan/Dermott/Mermis on D, etc. None of them are any different than our current tweeners.

Then demote all our exempt guys plus anybody who would clear to boost Milwaukee. It really isn't going to make any difference whatsoever to the NHL Preds. But FFS, make the Ads a powerhouse again, at least? We're getting the worst of both worlds atm instead.

Trotz was a bad hire.

Honestly I wasn't thrilled with the hire when they made it. He had no experience than behind the bench, which isn't the same as being in the front office making overall roster decisions.
Like Porter said, he's just been gutting the organization this season. Our injury insurance was all sent out the windows. Then he started chipping away at functional players in the lineup and stripping the Milwaukee roster. I make jokes about finding players in cereal boxes and diaper bags, but it's almost that surreal objectively. He's expecting to "find guys" in the middle of the hockey season without any loss in skill? How? I mean WTAF?
