Gallagher, Dadonov, Drou-Drou, Armia, Evans...the list is long. I understand he had a rough start but he was one of our best forwards last year.

Really don't understand the 180 on him.
Maybe because Pezz accepts his role on the 4th line and the other plug doesn’t?

His shooting percentage with us was never sustainable. It was a lucky season he had, getting big minutes on a struggling team and getting some puck luck. We are now seeing why Pitlick was waived by two other organizations before he made his way to Montreal. He is what he is, a borderline fourth liner/AHL player.

He will be a fill in when injuries hit, and might take a regular shift post TDL if we sell off some guys like Dadonov, Drouin, Monahan, etc.... but he's just not part of the future of this team despite his age.
We used to say the same thing about Ti Paul and his first 20 goals season...it was a fluke. Yet he was able to repeat and go even beyond.

All the players I named had a much worst season than Pitlick last season.

I think Pitlick deserves more than 7 games before being waived.

Monahan was great. If we keep him, he has to want a 3-4 year contract, I wouldn't go more than that. If he wants a longer contract which he can probably get in the open market, we should trade him, as painful as it will be.

I'd be on board to keep Money Hands for 3-4 years. If we can go grab Dubois to share Centre duties with dach on the 2nd Wed have a C core of

Suzuki
Dubois/Dach
Monahan
Evans

Eventually Beck would come in and push Monahan to the wing. Would be great

When was the last time Habs scored on all 3 shots in a SO? It was nice. Suzuki's goal was pretty sickly slick.

Habs should make a secret deal with him for a bit extra pocket change. Trade him for the 1st round with the agreement that he re-signs with Habs over the summer. Win-win.

Despite being on a contract that pays him less than 1 million and even with that 31 other NHL teams didn't want Pitlick. That kinda suggests that he's not really that good. Yes NHL teams sometimes make errors but its not that often that all 32 teams don't want a guy with a cheap contract and he's actually good.

As for Byron, he had a use as one of the best penalty killers on the team, Pitlick isn't that. Thats why he got a longer leash, and he proved that he could repeat his offence.

Neither is Pezzetta...

At least Pitlick can make a tape-to-tape pass...

Finally another line apart from the Suzuki line showed some chemistry... Hopefully, Monahan Andy, and Armia can become a thing.
the new Armia-Staal-Perry. Faster, younger, and just as much Armia(Forecheck, Possession, Board wins, defence, scoring spurts) in the mix.

What I like is Monahan is the most talented one on the line and Armia is very good at keeping the puck on his stick, which minimizes the time Anderson needs to carry the puck. Anderson will show his best self when he can be free to fly around the ice and not try to protect the puck. Love the size as well.

I thought the same thing watching those 3 big bois cycling the puck out there on a couple of occasions.

I also noticed Anderson trying to actually play with the puck on his stick and make plays probably for the first time ever lmao.

MSL clearly trying to work with him.

Yeah I am a pro-anderson fan and I think we can get good production out of him in the right circumstances. This line might be the ticket for now. Could even lead to dealing Armia and/or Anderson and keeping Monahan;)

That line had so many chances in this game it's crazy... Could've scored at least 3 goals.

Hopefully, they can keep this stuff up!

I wouldn’t call him an asset. What we’d get like a 7th rounder for him? He’s a really great guy but not a good hockey player. Our worst player by far that’s in the current lineup

That early 2000’s logic has expired. The game has become so soft that you don’t even need scrubs to defend anyone anymore

lol I don't need anybody defending anybody. But physicality still has its place. (even if many coaches don't know how to deploy it)

People actually wanting to extend Monahan lol.. don't forget what we are doing here. He's 28 with surgeries to his wrists and both his hips.

We are lucky he's playing this well and you cash in on that Pronto.
For me it's like Lehkonen. He's a good piece if you are a contender but he's not in your core. Let him go and take the pick unless he's on for a serious paycut on a short term contract.

Can't believe MSL put Kirby out for shootout. And he did it.
Last season, hawks would rather have a dman who hasn't scored many goals take the shootout instead of Kirby.
And we’d counter with Paul Byron.

Yeah, yeah, I get his career % is decent, but it still drove me crazy when we’d roll him out.

Yeah, signing him would reek of the desperation of the previous era.

We need to trade him, but if he does want to come back afterwards, it would need to be a deal that doesn't shackle us. Short term, which is probably not what he will be looking for, but you never know.

Even if he does want that, you trade him. He'll be worthless if we are not making the playoffs.

Slaf get injured?

No, high hit (or him with his head down), since the head was hit he sat out for 15mn but went back on the bench and he said he was ok. His luck will run out eventually if he keeps doing that.
