A bit perplexed as to why Pitlick is in Laval and Pezzetta is in Montreal.
Hughes said that they didn’t want to lose assets. He also said that if they waive Pezzetta, there are are several teams that would make a claim.

Not wanting to lose assets is also why there was a plan to rotate D but that can’t last. It looks like Hughes is just buying time for the right deal to come along.

It would cost the habs Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, or Guhle. None of these makes sense to trade.
Not necessarily, never discount the James Dolan factor, if he loses patience and wants to go for it, Drury will do as he’s told.

Dolan lost his rebuild patience w Gorton & Davidson, and found the convenient excuse he needed w l’affaire Wilson

With a ratcheted up Dolan, wouldn’t shock me to see some type of Anderson for Lafreniere deal

No idea what was up with Pezzetta, but he looked like he was still dizzy after getting ragdolled by Gudbranson. Kept falling down for no reason. If that's our energy guy...

It’s all really dependent on his health, when you look at all the injuries and surgeries in recent years.

Would Hughes consider dealing him now rather than wait for the deadline? The advantage of right now is how Monahan is looking to be in full possession of his attributes, able to play without impediment and producing like he can.

Will that be the case at the trading deadline?
Too much cap hit to trade him now.

Not when someone actually traded for Reaves. Guerin would likely claim him. He prefers plugs over actual talent.
Reaves wins fights, Pezz lose fights. There's a difference here.
The mistake was letting Deslauriers go for a 4th round pick in 2020.
Who is the 2020 4th round pick today?

edit : Blake Biondi, he's the 4th round pick in 2020. What a waste comparing to Deslauriers

I only caught the last 14:00 minutes of the third plus the OT. I can't remember the last time we scored 3 times in the shootout if ever? :dunno:
It's not easy to do.

The Habs have scored 3 shootout goals 7 times now (they’ve never scored more than that). This is the 1st time though they did it in only 3 shots.

Gallagher, Dadonov, Drou-Drou, Armia, Evans...the list is long. I understand he had a rough start but he was one of our best forwards last year.

Really don't understand the 180 on him.

I wouldn’t call him an asset. What we’d get like a 7th rounder for him? He’s a really great guy but not a good hockey player. Our worst player by far that’s in the current lineup

Pezzeta provides a specific need other players do not have. We need some physicality in our forwards core. I want Pitlick with the team, though.
That early 2000’s logic has expired. The game has become so soft that you don’t even need scrubs to defend anyone anymore

Gotta give Pez a chance, he's getting better

not sure if serious
Pez was better last year than any point this year. He’s garbage

It's too early to say and I don't have a cristal ball but sometimes the "him" makes the 180.
Players evolve and sometimes players regress. Last year he was in a good context. There was room for hgim and he took it. This year is different situation and he's not showing he deserves a lot. But it can change, Pezz will have a short month or two to show he's better than Pitlick or another one from Laval.

His shooting percentage with us was never sustainable. It was a lucky season he had, getting big minutes on a struggling team and getting some puck luck. We are now seeing why Pitlick was waived by two other organizations before he made his way to Montreal. He is what he is, a borderline fourth liner/AHL player.

He will be a fill in when injuries hit, and might take a regular shift post TDL if we sell off some guys like Dadonov, Drouin, Monahan, etc.... but he's just not part of the future of this team despite his age.
