IMO Evans signs that deal, $3.5M would be ideal (w significant bonus payout in first few years) as it would represent 2x bump up from present $1.7M and 4th liners / specialists tend to prefer termI put years on the table
6 years at around 3.65M
I take it Bobrovsky, Vasilevsky, and Shesterkin should’ve been more concerned about being “people’s champ”Evans signs an extension 2.5x4 down the stretch and becomes the people’s champ that Price should’ve been until he screwed us
You know what; changing my vote to this. at 28 and a low salary he’s tradeable at worse.I put years on the table

I don't see his agent asking for anything less than 5 years his performance this season has him earning 4m minimum.Evans always had a great all around game but no production so for many like me that made him easily replaceable and even taking the spot of some specialist vet or prospect.
I feel his worth above a vanilla 4th liner resides in how long he can stay healthy and fast at this point, it’s awesome to see him produce.
hf looks like around 4x4 so far and his consistency producing has me really impressed. Does not look like a spurt.
Heavy bonus structured contract putting hard cash on the table in the first 24 months + 1day is a significant leverage tool Hughes has at his disposal vs many other teamsI don't see his agent asking for anything less than 5 years his performance this season has him earning 4m minimum.
Heck we've seen higher contracts handed out for less.
Good Luck trying to keep everybody happy with this one Kent.

Say $3.5M x 4-years: if $12M (out of $14M) is paid out in first 24months + 1-day, that takes Evans to age 32 for his retirement contract

Exactly, in 3-4 years with the cap increase, it won't be a problem in the long run
We have a huge upper hand as we can discuss all this with Jake and his Agent before anything happens. They should be trying to sign Evans now. To get an idea of what it will take. If he sounds like he wants to see what is out there next summer. Probably trade him before deadline. He will bring a good asset doubt I would let him walk for nil
I like the thinking of this even if I don’t know if I agree. But yeah if he would take 3 years I’d be fine with whatever AAV. Mind you I’m not well versed enough on our cap situation to say.3.75-4 over 4 years is my max. I'd go higher on the AAV to keep the term to 3 years though.
Just beat me to it. We’re very likely going to be in that race so unless something drastic happens or we come back down to earth sooner than later, he ends the season as a Hab 1000%If we stay in the mix all year there is no way in hell Kent will trade Evans at the deadline.
Looks like Dvorak did not get the memoah yes, the old 'light it up on my final contract year' routine. Not falling for it
Monahan was likely giving a bit of a discount because he wanted to play with Johnny Hockey, also due to the injuries the term/total value of the contract probably was what mattered. It's likely that he wasn't looking at the 5.5m figure but the 27.5m. Also who knows how much the full NMC for the first 3 years and 15 team no trade list for the last 2 years impacted the cap value.Evans has never scored above 30 points in a given season. Even if he scores 50 this year it would be very surprising for him to get 5+m. As a matter of fact Monahan just got 5.5m after a 59 point season and a season on pace for 51. If you ignore the injury years in CGY he has been consistently above 50 points, which is a lot more than Evans. Hence don t see a GM offering terms and dollars like they would for a goal scorer but you never know…
Dvorak is having a good season considering he's getting both Anderson and Gallagher going.Looks like Dvorak did not get the memo
