Canada remains at the top of the hockey world… With Bedard, Celebrini and McKenna coming… Hockey Canada is a strong as it’s ever been and will not lose a single game in the 4 Nations tournament or Olympics… Or any other competition that is best on best.

Canada would have won at least 13 of the last 14 WJC if it was best on best no doubt.. Not this USA make a wish tournament

Holy shit the salt. My heavens.

We'll revisit that 4 nations comment in a few months. Any of Canada's goalies wouldn't crack our lineup. Gonna be tough. Tougher than you think anyways.

Slowly turning into a machine. Last two years have been the most talented team in the tournament, which was an unthinkable notion 15 years ago.
And we have 8 guys coming back (assuming Hagens is playing in the NHL).

I think it starts with our fans not booing 19YOs. Have some class CAN and don't put up with the behavior of the few. Win with class and lose with class.
That's definitely an underrated part of our success.

Your entire post is pointless as you are about to become our 51st state in a few weeks anyway...

Hockey and Soccer aren't popular enough for USA to ever be the best. There's enough juice to be a top 20-ish team or so in soccer and a top 2-ish team in hockey (because it's not that popular globally).

So much U.S. sporting resources are devoted towards Football, Basketball and Baseball. Also strong in Summer Olympic sports where USA typically does the best globally. Ultimately the country is very well rounded but for a sport like hockey, they need Canada to mess up to ever really consistently be the best hockey nation, and soccer is pretty unlikely to ever seriously surpass the big European and South American nations.
It's funny, I'm 36, been playing hockey since 92. In my lifetime I think hockey had steadily gotten more popular in the US while the NHL had continuously gotten less popular. It's the best sport with the worst major pro league.

they go with the best team they can possibly assemble. That's all. Its a best of one.
USA know its pointless to outhit the opponent. At the end of the game the team with more goals will win the game, not the team with more hits. Wow its actually quite insulting now that I see how the USA assembles their team, compare to what we do up in the north. I think its similar to how the Russians would assemble their team. They will ice an talented team, only in Canada, do we try to assemble a don cherry goon in em type of group . Well done USA. Now its Canadas turn to learn a thing or 2 from the Americans.

Most professional sports are showing declines in interest (the outliers being the WNBA and MLS only because they are comparatively new) which is attributable to many things, including the availability of other entertainment options, high cost to actually attend games which shuts out a large portion of the population, long-term interest fatigue, etc., etc. & etc.

Meanwhile, youth and collegiate hockey seem to be growing at a pretty good clip in the U.S., probably due in no small part to NHL expansion. Heck, even the University of Nevada Las Vegas now has a hockey team .... the mere idea of which would have drawn hearty laughter even just 10 years ago.

Hockey will only touch a relatively small niche part of the U.S. market -- every U.S. high school large and small has a football field, baseball field, and indoor basketball court, but hardly any have an ice rink -- though even a modest percentage of 330 million folks is still quite something.

Yeah pretty convenient to say "13 of 14" when Canada literally lost to the U.S. the only time there was a "best on best" world juniors in that 14 year period.
what when? when laf and dach didn’t play or when canada was missing the art ross winner

Alas. Besides, why not 14 of 14?

You'll always be best at curling!
the 14 th is truly a coin flip… As a proud Russian I will take the land of the free - Canada

Chill. It's not the end of the world. Canada is good at other stuff. There's always Maple syrup right? You all can just start focusing on that more now.
This is a proper take though. If Canada has Bedard, Celebrini and Benson this wouldn’t have even been a tournament.

States have a really good u20 group right now too with Will Smith, easily the 2nd best group.

Not too sure where Russia would be. My guess is if it was best one best the last two year it would’ve been 2024 1. Canada 2.Russia 3.USA 2025 1. Canada 2.USA 3.Russia

The American system is a good one and isn't cucked like ours. We develop players for other nations just so they can kick our asses in international competitions. The right management and coaching also goes a long way.

Throw Dave Cameron behind the American bench and they aren't winning gold. Normally, I'd be upset about the Americans winning goal on Canadian soil, but this time, I welcome it. Hockey Canada deserves as much egg on their face as they can get. Maybe at some point in the future, they'll get sick of being Team USA's bitch. Wouldn't count on it happening in the next 12 months though, if their recent comments are anything to go by. Lmao

Congrats to Team USA on their accomplishment. They have a great system and are reaping the rewards from it. Hockey Canada should (but won't) take notes.

This outsider's view is that Hockey Canada is everything that is bad about the Old Boys Club Of Inefficient Cronyism: "We lost, but we got paid and had a bunch of fancy free dinners in the meantime. Next year, our buddies can do it too!"

Hopefully you can get it fixed soon.
