What's in those Gatorade bottles at the bench?

It never occurred to me that everyone had their own bottles unless they were sick or potentially contagious with something. I just figured everyone shared bottles cause you only see them squirting the drinks into their mouths and not drinking directly from the bottle.

That's cool, I use coconut water myself when I play. It's nature's gatorade, hydrates you really well and it's refreshing. Also great to drink after a night of drinking to make the morning after more bearable. ;)

Nothing beats Pedialyte in order to fight a hangover :D

Vodka-Tonic....well at least in Mark Stone's

Depends on the team. From what I understand, most teams have mostly shared bottles unless there's something going around, some water, some half and half. Individual players have their own thing if they want something different.

From what I've been told, it's extremely rare that players drink straight Gatorade or Powerade. Many like it watered down/mixed, some use just water and some prefer another liquid entirely. If you randomly checked 50 bottles, you'd probably get at least a dozen different beverages inside them...

I would say that regardless of what the Hawks have in their bottles, there are probably no players drinking straight Gatorade. Working with the battlefield AFSCs in my military career and having gone through Ranger school (not a Ranger; the 56 day course to earn my Ranger tab) we are instructed to only drink 50/50 Gatorade/water mixes and our Gatorade dispensers are setup to deliver the drink already watered down. I can't imagine the guys in the NHL are drinking the full, sugary drink.

I remember Bob Errey enthusiastically pointing out that the Pens share bottles. This was only shortly before several of them got the mumps.

It's just more fun to do it that way
