This post makes me wonder: what would it take for you to say “f*** the Bruins. I’m done”? Even more, what would have to happen for you to switch allegiances? Who would your new team be? Would you thow your bruins gear in the trash or burn it?

What would your breaking point be? And don’t say you don’t have one. Everyone does.

I don't have one.

i don't have one. there is no chance...zero. since i left Boston i've lived in DC, San Francisco, and Raleigh and have never even considered changing my jersey. never.

I watch them when they are good, I watch them when they are bad. I will always watch.

With the exception of my wedding day and my children’s births, very few days compare to when they won the cup in 2011.

It can be very hard to be a fan of this team sometimes, but to quote a great line from a league of their own “the hard is what makes it great”

Even during some of the dark periods of the late-Sinden and MOC eras, I never considered bailing on the Black and Gold. Bleed this team, not the players.
Most fans will demand someone's head, including players/management/ownership, before even resorting to what Leafs fans are doing.

I would never quit on the Bruins. I am old and they have been my team all of my life.

If I moved somewhere else that had an NHL team my new city may become # 2

My daughter moved (years ago) to Calif and the Sharks became her second team (mostly because of Joe Thornton). Bs will always be her #1.

She was in Boston for opening game in 2019. It was her birthday so one of the guys who works behind the bench gave her a puck.

If there was a credible, scandalous leak that Bruins ownership was deliberately NOT making any attempt to win - only treading water just enough to maximize profits - that might do it for me. The Boomers here might remember “The Pentagon Papers” exposé in the New York Times. Something akin to that. That would be my breaking point - knowing they weren’t even trying.

I came close back in 2006-2007. They made all those changes and they still stunk. I asked myself why do I cheer for this team.

Now? I'd stop watching hockey before I'd give up on the Bruins and cheer for a different team.

On a side note, burning $200 hockey jerseys over the outcome a season is flat out bonkers. If you don't want 'em, send them to me I'll whack them up up on Ebay and make a dollar.

Agreed on the jersey burning. What a disaster they have there now.

There are a few of these teams with seemingly big changes on the horizon. It’s going to make the offseason very entertaining. Some serious animosity out there.

Hire a bald coach with no connections to the Bruins

Basically Monty 2.0

Not that this would happen, but if the team moved I'd certainly be out. If the ticket prices continue to go thru the roof there would certainly be an estrangement, but we aren't there yet.

My new team would absolutely be the Anaheim Ducks since I watch most of their games anyway.

I honestly can`t answer this. The closest I have ever come to something like this is taking a break watching Bruin teams who were anything but entertaining such as this past year but I still am not close or wasn`t close to saying to hell with this team which I`ve done in past years as well when bored or frustrated with the direction of the team

The Poo Bear years were brutal but still always a Bruin fan

I've barely watched a minute of regular season Bruins hockey since they bowed out in the first round 2023. No plans for that to change. But I would never get to the point of burning expensive jerseys, let alone doing it on social media for attention.
