He wasn't and isn't injured in the manner Gallagher is. That's why. Deny that reality however you wish.
Give him a season to prove himself rather than writing off after a down season. Gallagher is 100% certain he will be back to form. You don’t say that and set yourself for failure if you have a permanent ailment. 1 bad season doesn’t kill a career (see EK).

And stop offering nuclear waste like Vlasic. Accept his fate as a future buyout. No one will take that filth off your hands. It would be the height of stupidity to trade for Vlasic without multiple 1st round picks included.

Even your own board thinks you are out to lunch with your Vlasic offier! lol

Players say that even when they get hurt like that plenty. I've already accepted a Vlasic buyout. You're not going to shout me down from talking with others about it. Your last statement is just a lie.

Gallagher is getting $9M in 2024-2025. That's how brutal that contract is. Didn't even frontload it properly.
Contract was structured to minimize escrow impact. That said it is indeed brutal.

With the amount of injuries this guy had would not be surprising to see him ride into sunset on LTIR well before contract runs out.

Gallagher for Monahan

Nope from the Flames

Lol Monahan has said that for three seasons now. Sometimes injuries build up and cook guys

You haven't watched. Maybe a long summer break will do him good, but I think he should have gone under the knife in November when it was clear the season was lost. He needs the same hip surgery Byron had. There are other nagging issues too. All this was predictable, and it's why he should have been trade between 2017 and 2020. Right now, he's an offensive black hole that can't keep up with play most nights.
Where did you read about the same hip surgery Byron had?

I keep reading that, but what are his known past injuries? Hand twice, groin going back to the playoffs. I mean I wouldn't be surprise he ends up on LTIR, but not in the near future. It's not like he had multiple knee/shoulder/head injuries.

The kid is the heart and soul of that crappy team.
They won’t be better if they get rid of him.
He's not a kid, he's a balding, bitter middle-aged man at this point, and he's bad, he's so freaking bad.

You can't just have a bunch of young players even when rebuilding. Gally can be the respected veteran and contribute to the development of our future young core. In 4 years he'll just have what, 2 years left to his contract? If that becomes a problem, we can then consider paying for moving him.

I get your point but I don't feel we should pay anything for the only purpose of getting rid of his contract. Now, if a crazy gm comes in and wants to make a hockey trade, then of course you have to take that opportunity. I just don't see who would be crazy enough to trade for him unless a similar undesirable contract comes MTL way.
Nobody respects his incessant whining and loser attitude.

I can't remember who brought it up, if it was John Lu or not. But someone with a check mark by their name was discussing it during final media availability.
Ok discussing but not confirm. I heard he had a groin injury , but haven't seen anything confirming what it was or that it was the exact same as Byron's injury

It wasn't speculative. It was a play-by-play of his last media availability, which is why I think it was Lu.

I've watched the media thing, he said he was injured but didn't specify what or if it required surgery or if it was the same aa Byron's. Anyway, let's hope it turns out better then Byron, whatever it is.

Who said the Habs are gauging the market to trade Gally, Hoffman, Price or Savard? They aren’t. Petry may be traded if his earlier request still holds true. Habs do not want to trade Petry if they don’t need to.

Price will eventually retire or ltir as soin as next season . Weber is ltir’d and can be traded to a floor team with a sweetener if there is interest .

Habs are rebuilding and do not need to offload cap. Gallagher had a down year due to injuries and fatigue after the cup run. He will be rested and ready to provide a productive season next year.
Sounds great. Habs keep all of Drouin, Price, Gallagher, Petry, Byron, Hoffman and Savard.

So no more proposals by Habs fans trying to off load any of these bad contracts. Just run them out on the Habs cap.

Done. That was easy.

No need for these proposals. Habs are rebuilding and do not need to pay to shed contracts.

I'm not going to sell you a bottle of snake oil. His contract is awful, untradeable sheet of turd. What would it take for you to take him off our hands?

Any kind of scenario will do, with 50% retained if that's what it takes. Show me your magic and do the impossible, Clarkson trade 2.0.

Gallagher + Edmundson for Barrie + Kassian?

I agree with you for once. Your thoughts and expectations that the Habs should and will ride all the current Habs player contracts out.

Habs need to and will keep all of Price, Petry, Gallagher, Hoffman, Byron, Savard and Drouin for the balance of their respective contracts. Petry will just need to deal with it like a pro.

Play them when they are healthy or stick them on IR when they can’t go.
