Voted 50-59 but I think 55-65 is the most likely range. He won his 2013 Art Ross on secondary assists and high TOI per game, his game has been declining for a while. He's a possession anchor that can score and needs to be heavily sheltered 5v5.

He was basically scoring at his normal rate in the playoffs, he just got less TOI than he did in Tampa.

I've been looking at combinations, and the only way that his line isn't a total defensive liability is if we play him with Brassard as his center and Hagelin/Zuccarello on the opposite wing.

contract year. Realistic-58 Points. 26 Goals and 32 assists.
Out perform-69 Points. 33 Goals and 36 assists.

He had a slow start here but he's been virtually a point per game or more player the past 10 years. I don't think next year is an exception.

The exception is, for the first time he will be on the Rangers all year next year!

You know what THAT means...

lol Yeah. I'm trying so hard to be positive here, and not fear that he gets 45 points all season.

Every off season is the same for me. "Career year coming up!" "Break out season!"...Summers are the time for dreams, I guess.

I still believe he gets damn near a PPG next season.

I like 70 as an over/under. I think he'll be right around there, give or take a few. He's comfortable here now. He knows most of the Top 9 really well now. And he won't be saddled with Brad Richards for a single shift next year.

I meant to click 50-59 but clicked 40-49 by accident. Still a good player but not the MSL of old.

Our depth took such a big hit this off-season  Our centers are going to be the death of us.

Our depth mostly took a hit on the wings. Miller's slotting in for Richards. Brad scored 19 points on the powerplay last year and his special teams responsibilities are going to Boyle. Richards' even strength play left a lot to be desired and it's not that much of a stretch to see Miller stepping up and matching or beating his production. He needs to give us 32 points and not be a trainwreck defensively.

Maybe Lindberg can take on that extra center playing fourth line wing role that Brian Boyle played last year.

I think 50-59 unless he gets a good center.

See, that's the thing, I don't think he's one of those players that really needs a good center to play with.

IIRC he played on a line with Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat. Definitely breakout years for those two, but how did they do after MSL was traded? I don't have the stats in front of me so I don't know, but I'm going to assume that they took a bit of a hit in their production.

Marty is one of those guys that is a freak with his conditioning (like Jagr) and he is still really quick, so I think playing him besides Miller and Hagelin; two guys with speed, we could see Marty reach at least 65.

Sorry, not trying to intrude, just giving you info on Johnson and Palat after the trade. Palat scored 22 points in 18 games after the trade, and Johnson scored 11 in 18 games after the trade. Palat works with anybody, but it was a bit of a headscratcher finding a place for Johnson toward the end of the season, and Johnson lost his first PP time when Stamkos came back (he was on the left dot during the injury). I'd say the loss of PP time had more of an effect than the MSL trade, to be honest.

Bolts fan coming in peace, 22 points in 18 games after March 6th. Palat pretty much thrived on whatever line he was on, as I recall.

I think Marty will do fine for you guys this coming year.

Something is wrong because I have never seen Marty play as poorly as he has for the Rangers so far. 22 points in 44 games is not the Marty I know. Before the trade 61 points in 62 games.

His best game as a Ranger was his debut. He and Richards were playing like they had a sixth sense. I remember thinking how fluky it was that he didn't get on the scoresheet and that he wouldn't have many more games where he didnt do so. Well, after that he was between iffy and pretty good on a night to night basis.

Given that he's responded at least twice to the backlash of the trade, I think it's safe to say it's going to take him some time to get comfortable in his new shade of blue. I'm sure he'll pull it together next season once the Rangers have finished the preseason and he's had a little more time get used to his teammates.
