Kotkaniemi is far and away the best option for the one-timer on the right halfwall (Galchenyuk's office). He has the vision and offensive creativity to find people if there's no shot, and the one timer if he's open (see his goal last night and goals in junior for finland).

But Julien won't use him there. It's ridiculous.

Gallagher in front of the net
Kotaknimei on the right halfwall
Weber on the left halfwall (where Ovechkin sets up).
Petry or Drouin at the top of the diamond.
Domi or Drouin in the high slot/roaming.

They used him on the right half wall earlier in the season.
Julien said they would consider putting him back there

Maybe I'm crazy but I'd like to see Drouin at the point. Petry is having a nice season but he always shoots the puck and has limited vision coupled with great athletic skills.

Drouin is too much of a risk at the point on the PP, IMO. Better off having a trigger like Petry at the top. I prefer Domi as a roaming playmaker because he can also win battles one on one.

I don't mind having Domi at the point either. As of Drouin's being dangerous defensively at the point, I disagree, I'd rather have a QB who might make mistakes, he'd learn how to make less mistakes after a while.

I wonder if it makes sense to move Domi to the wing, and Kotka up to the top 6.

Domi - Danault - Armia
Drouin - Kotkaniemi - Gallagher

I'd also call Juulsen back up.

I'd like to see Domi on Kotka's wing

Domi - Kotka - Tatar
Drouin - Danault - Gallagher
Lekhonen - Byron - Armia
Agostino/DLO - Chaput - Hudon/Shaw

With the emergence and chemistry of Drouin-Danault-Gally, the Domi line has been gutted. What are the remaining lines?

Tatar-Domi-Shaw?
Armia-KK-Lehkonen
???-???-Byron

Byron looked pretty good at C last year and would add speed to the 4th line. Don’t want to mess with the top 9 right now either.

Drouin-Danault-Gallagher
Tatar-Domi-Shaw
Lehkonen-Kotkaniemi-Armia
Deslaurier-Byron-Weise

Mete-Weber

Kulak-Benn

I'm guessing we'll see this vs Nashville.

Shaw was incredible against the leafs and he looks hungry to keep up his good play. He and Domi need to be attached at the hip. They have chemistry and they automatically make any line they're on at least 2/3rds gritty. I like that Tatar gets some more room since Domi and Shaw are so in your face.

As I said in another thread, I think Byron would replace Lehk on the 3rd and Lehk would go to the fourth, which would be amazing. He would be an absolute overkill for 4LW which shows our depth.

I can't believe how Drouin has responded to being put with Danault and Gallagher. He has that intensity rub off on him and I think Drouin feels more confident and decisive. We've seen improvement from last year, but I'm impressed how much he has grown over the year (KK too :D)

I like this line up. But I think its going to be Benn-Folin as the 3rd D pair. We deeply miss a LHD3

Kulak is good as #3 LHD and Benn plays way way better on the right side even if he is a LH shot. Folin is a #7. Nothing less, nothing more.

D-lo will probably get the call on the new 4th line. But I'd like to get Weise some offensive players to play with. If Thompson and Weise have speed, Hudon becomes less of a libility.

It will be D-lo-Thompson-Weise
But I'd like to see Hudon-Thompson-Weise or Peca-Thompson-Weise

I'd like to see Kulak with Petry:

Mete - Weber
Kulak - Petry
Folin - Benn

I like the size and skating of this D.
