He made the Kings bearable to watch when they really shouldn;t have been. One of my all-time favorite players and I'm glad he was a King. To bad he never came close to ever winning a cup. Imagine what he would have done with a legitimate top line centre. Outside of I think one year with Jason Allison, he never had that chance. Him and Malkin or Crosby would have been sick.
He left the Penquins when he was still a point per game guy, playing with Mario and Sid. At the time wasn't he playing through injuries?

What are you talking about? The Palffy years were some of the better Kings teams.
First 3 years made the playoffs, beat those damn Wings 00 with that great comeback.
Those teams were pretty exciting. The Deadmarsh/Allison/Palffy line was dominant but short lived. The 4th year team injuries were to much to overcome. And of course 5th year Palffy was off to a great start and then the stick pulling incident and he was out for the year and never played for the Kings again. That was also the year of the crazy 11 game losing streak at the end of the season

I don't agree that they were some of the better Kings teams. They won 1 playoff series by riding a hot goalie against a crippled Detroit team.
They had little to no depth and that depth got worse when they tried to replace Luc with Heinze, and Stumpel and Murray with Allison and the missing top 6 forward was never replaced.
I do agree that the 00-01 playoff run was exciting, but those teams were never serious cup contenders and if you compare our current team to those, you'll see how far off we really were

The playoffs in 2000 and 2001 (IIRC) were the best part of it all. We made Colorado earn their cup, and earn their way to round two the next year. That was a rivalry.
Outside of the playoffs, it was just a collection of false hopes, a few good players mixed in with the likes of Craig Johnson's Roman Vopat's and Yanic Perrault's (who I did like), hoping to use patch jobs in net to take us places (only Potvin worked).
A lot of the reason for me it wasn't exciting, is exactly what you said about the injuries. Deadmarsh was exciting. Then he has to retire after one season as a King. Allison had what, one full season as a King? Plenty of other injuries, I remember for like three seasons it was a gong show watching the running tally of man games lost due to injury. You'd think our medical staff was being led by a Hungarian butcher.
I view the Pallfy era (and by that I mean the timeframe he was here) as a collective waste of hope, with every fueled inspiration either short-lived or moved on well before they were done in order to reach the ultimate prize elsewhere for various reasons (Robitaille, Blake, Schneider, etc.) I didn't view it as exciting, I viewed it as tough emotionally. Years like those is what has made so many fans here nowadays bitter and guarded, IMO.

When he got hit in the face by a puck while sitting on the bench (I think it was against Tampa Bay), that was pretty much the icing on the cake in the 2003-04 season. That was probably the most injury-riddled team I've ever seen.

Keep in mind we led the league in man games lost to injuries for 3 straight seasons under Andy Murray. Tough times, some serious potential there went unrealized. Fun time to be a Kings fan though, start of the 00's. WHOLE lot more Avs and Wings fans at the time in schools up here.

If we could have been healthy there are some great potential lines you could have made out of the team between 2001 and 2003. Just think if all those kids and vets would have clicked at the same time like last tears team. We could have been a contending team.
