It appears college football needs a draft and a salary cap.

Everything college football has done the last few years has been horrible (NIL, transfer-portal, 12 team playoff). They are trying to turn the sport into MLB, all the top guys go to whoever is willing to spend the most, they added way to many playoff teams and cheapened the regular season and there is basically UFA every offseason (and in some cases guys just bolt midseason).

The regular season is mostly dead, rivalries like The Game, Iron Bowl, Red River and SC/Notre Dame now matter no more than a week 13 game between the Steelers/Ravens, Cowboys/Eagles. It's really a shame, because those games used to mean everything and the electricity in those stadiums is just not matched by playoff games between teams with no history vs each other, played indoors in cookie-cutter domed NFL stadiums.

And before anyone says anything, I am not against players getting paid, but these are still supposed to be amateur athletes and students. Everybody on the teams should be paid exactly the same from TV money, from the long-snapper to the starting qb.

The NCAA dropped the ball by refusing to compensate the players at all. I think all of the players should have received greater stipends, also perhaps an annuity they could access at age 25, and definitely coverage for any medical expenses related to chronic injuries sustained while playing college football.

This BS of the best players going to the highest bidder is professional football, not college football. If the players who are getting big money now wouldn't like getting paid the same as everyone else, then let them start a minor league and see how well it does with the fans, because it won't do well. The players are transitory, the schools are what make college football.

When you have college QBs that can make way more money (NIL) in one single season than they would in their whole first NFL contract (4 deal non-1st round pick)....you got a big problem.

Un f***ing real, it’s like trading draisaitl for malkin

So stoked for both Luka and Kopi haha. Don’t know how the lakers keep doing it but that’s what model franchises like them and the dodgers do

You already know this is gonna push Luc to offer $15M to Marner this July because you need stars in LA.

Luka is the anti-Kopitar. Loud, emotional, not serious (sadly including conditioning), loves winning (and loves doing it), loves big moments, can put a team on his back. He is even more talented than Kopitar, a true prodigy. His personality type is a bit more like young Doughty than Kopitar. Somebody needs to convince him to finally take conditioning seriously (and to stop whining to refs).
