it literally has. Where have you been lately?
No hockey podcast have mentioned Atlanta ownership or Atlanta expansion except in the same sentence as other cities. Salt Lake City/Utah have been discussed for literal hours since last spring.

Future Nordiques. I'm not sure why the NHL thinks this will work a third time. What has changed there? An influx of people who enjoy ice based sporting event in the Atlanta area? I seriously doubt that.

Because QC is too small a market, it adds nothing to the league revenue wise, & it will just turn into another Ottawa or Winnipeg. The NHL never wanted the Nordiques in the first place. Hell, the other Canadian owners never lifted a finger to help them out before moving to Denver. Having an NHL team in QC is like having an NFL team in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Or greenbay

This also has the added bonus if they want to match the Atlanta Hawks colors in terms of branding.

Could easily do red, white, and yellow with an adapted version of this logo.

Would totally be my pick.
100% this makes too much sense so you just know it wont happen

Or greenbay
Green Bay is an anomaly. A small town that has had an NFL team since it was a much smaller league, long before it was as popular or profitable as it is currently. Green Bay would never even sniff a chance at an expansion team in modern day NFL

The Atlanta Haters, because a lot of people are hating on Atlanta getting an NHL team.

Don’t watch the league then.
Hasn't the demo's seen a recent change in Atlanta?
I remember reading an article about Florida and how everyone assumes its all Californians moving there but they specifically mention people from Atlanta.
If that happens to fall on racial lines and means a smaller population of your traditional hockey market, it may be tough to sell the game to certain markets.
Also if the stuff re white flight is true, its going to require a ground up effort to get new kids from new markets playing the game.
If it works, it could be a gold mine and massively expand the hockey market. So IMO, even with all the potential difficulty, the long term reward is worth the risk.
It's just beyond crucial to get started on the ground work to sell the game to non traditional markets in that area.

Ya know, I should hate this, but it does have a nice ironic twist to it. I might be down with this, provided that they use a dollar sign for Atlanta $pirit like I do. :D
Thank you!! Dollar sign for sure!
After all, my thinking in using Spirit to begin with would be to give the old ownership the middle finger!
