To Vancouver: Carlo, to Boston: Boeser

To Phoenix: DeBrusk, Gryz, to Boston: OEL (salary retained)

Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta
Hall-Krejci-Boeser
Ritchie-Coyle-Smith
Frederic-Studnicka-Lazar/Kuhman

Zboril/Vaak-McAvoy
OEL-Miller
Tinordi-Clifton

Swayman
FA
Rask (signs mid season when healthy)
You need someone more reliable than Miller in your top 4, it's not IF he'll be injured but when. I like the thoughts though and would maybe sign Oleksiak and Hakanpaa as two extra additions in order to slide Zboril/Vaak/Tinordi to extra D and Clifton to LD on the 3rd pair.

Probably not as many changes as people want to see but realistically when is the last time the Bruins added a bunch of new players? Maybe if Calgary blows it up they could be a good trade partner. I don't see the match with the Oilers as trade partners for DeBrusk.

On Defense I think Oleksiak would be a quality add and shouldn't break the bank. I like Lauzon more than most so I like him on the second pair, he's only played 80 regular season games, he will get better. Gryz I can take or leave but on the third pair I'm fine with him.

Krejci and Hall back, Goodrow is a quality add and try to break in Studnicka on the third line with Coyle playing wing and Frederic on the fourth line.

well, we r both bias so we will want more for each of our teams. I don’t live in Edmonton, I live in Atlantic Canada but the talk in sports around Edmonton and other sports shows were Kassian for Debrusk. They both make around same money and both have disappeared after they signed their deals
I could see possibly the Bruins asking for one of the younger Dman, Bear, Lagesson, etc
I think the key would be not offering players the Oilers wouldn't want to protect in the ED.

I would expect bruins to make a run at jonathon bernier for one year. ( swayman & bernier until rask is ready )
trade for a Top D . I would seriously consider a trade for Seth Jones.
would Debrusk, Studnicka, Beecher, Nick Ritchie, Vaakananen get it done ?
put rask on LTIR like kucherov

And speaking of which, we have to remember, if they sign a seat warmer goalie, one of Swayman or Vladar is going to Providence and Vladar needs to clear waivers.

Sign Oleksiak or trade with Chicago for Zadorov

This team desperately needs a big nasty physical presence in the Top 4 and either of these 2 fit that bill for a low cost. Zadorov can probably be had for a 2nd or 3rd. and Oleksiak will cost you $3.5m per tops

Depends on the team. From the Oilers, there really isn't much that makes sense for the Bruins. Maybe Bouchard and a pick? That may allow the Bruins to move Carlo for a LD or help on offense, but I also don't see Carlo being moved. DeBrusk+ for Klefbom? I honestly don't see a move that makes sense for both teams unless Boston just wants draft picks for DeBrusk.

Um. U may or may not know this, but Bouchard is projected to be a top pairing d man

Now I am bias being an oiler fan. But I do not see Debrusk playing in our top 3 and if we are trading Bouchard we will be looking for a player to play in our top 3

It's a great question, who knows at this point...I imagine he's valued higher to NHL GMs than fans on this message board, but no matter what it's probably a trade that we lose, almost immediately, as DeBrusk irons out his game and settles into the 20-23ish goal guy that he is

What's weird is I don't see the fit with the Oilers as a trade partner. He'd be a great wing for you guys riding with one of the big centers, but a lot of our needs match up. LHD, secondary scoring on the wing, etc. Maybe just a picks deal, but if the Bruins are to be believed and planning one more cup push, that doesn't make a ton of sense either.

Maybe a rare three-way deal would make the most sense.

we actually have some really good dman coming
along. Bouchard, Broberg, Samourkov .
If you are getting the Debrusk that played against the Leafs in the playoffs, u r getting a great player. He seems to have regressed. I agree with ya on your point about a possible 3 way team deal

Trading Season is soon among us. Gonna be interesting

Not bad but if it’s between keeping Ritchie or Debrusk, I’d keep Debrusk.

I'm not convinced Oleksiak makes it to free agency (I say they sign him right after the expansion draft) but if he does, he should be the Bruins No.1 D-man target. He ticks the most (albeit not all) of the boxes of any UFA left-shot defender.

If your OK with signing a guy knowing he's probably gonna be a bad contract in Years 3 and 4 than Martinez would also be an option.

Obvious difference in skill aside, Kassian will be 31 on an awful deal.
Drbrusk is 25 and an RFA.

If Sweeney makes that trade he should never be allowed near an hockey rink, like ever again.

Debrusk should be traded for a somewhat similar player in a similr situation. Who is that? im not sure.

we t in no shape to trade a forward for sure. We had a GM that really messed us up with a few foolish trades. Chiarelli was his name. Ring a bell in Boston? If u say that name in Edmonton, people cringe

DeBrusk for Kassian be absolutely disastrous for Boston.

We thought Reilly Smith for Jimmy Hayes was bad? Yikes.

Age difference and upside alone makes it pointless. Not sure a middling defensive prospect makes it intriguing.
I can actually see Rangers or Pens trading for Kassian tbh. They both have 0 toughness and both got exposed bad to Tom Wilson

Klefbom could be done for his career. He has been the MASH unit since he was drafted. Injured seriously every year . It’s a shame because when healthy, he is a great dman.
As for Bouchard and a pick for Debrusk, they would riot in the streets like Vancouver did when the Bruins beat them in 2011. Bouchard will be the PP QB after Barrie signs elsewhere this summer. I could see Bear and a pick for Debrusk

Another good option. I'd rather get a physical presence in that spot mostly because that is the glaring hole in the Top 4, but failing that I'd like Martinez there.

I don't mind Bear but RD is the last position they need to be spending assets to improve.

Oilers don't have any LD that would be of interest (Nurse is untouchable IMO and Klefbom may never play again).

Up front, outside of McD and Draisaitl obviously, I see Yammamoto and Puljujarvi but I don't see the Oilers moving either guy for Jake Debrusk. Right here today that's a downgrade either way for Edmonton.

I don't see much of a trade fit if they are strictly talking roster players.

That would be disappointing. I like Bear and all the potential Bruins/Bear nicknames and corny jokes that could be used, but the Bruins don’t need another undersized puck moving defenseman. We need some size, some nasty. Like Nurse :thumbu:

What about trying to grab Ekholm following the draft? Maybe DeBrusk + gets it done. They need effective centers, could we convince them Coyle is effective?

Charlie Coyle is having knee surgery so that may impact some decisions in the event he won't be ready to go day 1. No indications he won't be but just another thing to think about.

That should also squash the trade talk for now.

Oh god, Jacobs is gonna make them do this now. He just saw the $$$ from the jerseys with "Bear" on the back flying off the shelves

Nurse will be getting a hefty contract next year. He will be an Oiler for a long time

Thought so regarding Klefbom. I didn't know if there was any new news regarding his health. The problem with Bear is that he needs to be protected. McAvoy and Carlo are locks. The Bruins would have to think Bear is worth protecting over Grzelcyk, Lauzon, Zboril, and Clifton, and I'm not sure they would. In my opinion, protecting 3 RD and leaving Grzelcyk and Lauzon exposed (top 4 LD) wouldn't be the right move since Bear on the 3rd pairing is a luxury.

someone had a good point earlier, a 3 team trade. I can see 3 team trades happening more with the flat cap
I’m very curious on what Hall will resign for in Boston. He liked it there.. it’s funny, every time u mention a UFA , the Toronto media says the player is going there. Pretty soon , UFA’s will not wanna go to Toronto at all. They run players outta town. It’s a terrible place to play
