good size with very good skating and forechecking ability. Strong in the corners and hard to knock off the puck. Also a very good puck carrier and playmaker but lacks the hands or scoring ability to be an elite player.

What player does this best describe? Hagel?

Brandon Hagel is third in EVG this year. He absolutely has scoring ability. He's not an elite player because he's not dynamic enough to drive his own line.

Luostarinen probably isn't the caliber of player you're thinking about, but your description is pretty apt. He's big, he's a good (not great) skater, and he was moved to wing because of how good he is on the forecheck and along the boards. When he's played center he's visibly a good playmaker who can carry the puck and find teammates. He's a very well-rounded player whose weak spot is his lack of scoring touch.

I wouldn’t call Hagel good sized. He is probably average at best, despite being listed at 6’2. I don’t think he is anywhere near that, and he is fairly thin.

That’s a tough combination to find to go with “very good playmaker”.

Lars Eller has a few of those characteristics but not the playmaker aspect.

Matthew Knies does have pretty good hands and has a knack for scoring. But I don't think he'll ever be considered an elite player. So I propose his name be added to the running

Puljujarvi (when his hips aren't bugging him).
