Pink Floyd Ummagumma

Pink Floyd Ummagumma
Great choice! I love David Gilmour and I believe this was his first LP after joining the group earlier in the year?
Ironically, I have been listening to the “Wish you were here” LP, especially “Shine on you Crazy Diamond” parts I-IV over and over and over

Deep in the Purple jungles of BC
Sweet!!
Love old Genesis and not many better the Sir Steve!
Saw him perform his classics live with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra three years ago.
Simply incredible!
See now that’s so cool
I would have loved to see him now , I’ve seen them many years ago , and it was incredible as you know ..then I saw them with Collins leading the way in the 80s and it’s only one of 2 concerts that I left ...
But huge fan of Hackett

But my tastes in music are extremely far reaching and open ....
Never the less .. it’s never a bad experience, coming back to the soulful sounds that shaped your musical being

See now I think that entire album was and is the pinnacle of their studio work
It was like everything they new previously was expressed there ..
Beautiful album and so rich in sound and story
You nailed it! An amazing story set to complex time signature changes!
I am also very diverse in my musical tastes, but all roads lead back to Jazz Fusion and Prog Rock.

I was just watching this video this week. This dude is from toronto. He plays Sandman on the drums after listening to it only once in his life. He has some serious talent.

that is impressive, he is one of those gifted musicians, pretty smart to i bet

I am highly impressed by musical prodigies. It is amazing we still produce some given the prevalence of the recording industry to recycle old chords and over engineer music. This is a guy who dedicated his life to his craft. He can play anything. A Grammy award winner who most people never heard of.
