Dont know about you but I dont really care too much about them right now. What is happening is a slap in the face and an insult to all the fans.

Everything they promised to fix in the past is exactly whatwe have again. The only difference so far is we make the PO.

This team, the 'leaders' fall back on the "its us against the world" or "In this room we beleive in ourselves" even if other don't.....they do that too much.

"Us against everyone who doesn't believe in us" can be used OCCASIONALLY, but it is NOT appropriate to use to defend yourself when you are falling short of expectations. Its just an excuse.

Not only that...in the end the NHL is ENTERTAINMENT, pull that 'us against them' stuff too much ESPECIALLY when the 'them' is your fanbase, well, you aren't going to be liked all that much.

because over the years sports forums started discouraging new threads on individual topics so interesting things like this only get discussed by a couple guys on page 15 of a 36 page post game thread. Or shoved into the Mitch Marner Megathread which nobody reads regularly because it's been sitting there for the past 2 years. Probably why a decade later I still know nothing about the personalities of our star players.

I said a couple years ago I wish Marner would be traded for Tom Wilson and a strong D-Man. Wilson seems like the guy who is definitely not going to change his game, can play hockey and will also just wreck people when needed and sometimes for no reason at all. Guaranteed the team would play different. Marner can feed Ovi his slick diet-Datsyuk passes and help Ovi get that record to round out his career. That's all WSH realistically cares about at this point, so they'd gladly pay Marner+Pop's what they want. Then Marner can just play and not have heavy Stanley Cup pressures weighting him down. Do that and then Joe Thorton/Pavelski around looking for a cup.
