What kind of top 4 LHD does LA need?

You need to develop a tough LD who is able to make a good first pass and skate; otherwise you will inevitably overpay for them nowadays. You need either offense or size to stand out and get drafted nowadays, and it's tougher to develop NHL-level skills when you're 6'4" or taller (or so it seems based on how many of those guys don't make it).
I believe this is the philosophy being applied to why they will have Walker on the left side. They're not going to overpay for an actual LHD.

Sergachev, Cernak, Romanov.

Basically a unicorn at this point.

I think he’s got a necklace of ears in his hunting cabin somewhere up in Canada.
I think we all know RR is a unicorn now, I certainly did when I mentioned his name. However it’s very much the direction we need to go in to fill the gap, someone as close to that profile as possible. In terms of ‘type’ every other box is filled in the organisation.

Need a throwback style Dman. We basically need a left handed prime Blake. He needs a Nordstrom type so pair him with Roy.

Big shot, Big body, Big hits. Can PP and PK.

Unfortunately who is even close to this? Sergachev would be a Blake lite and he is locked up forever.

This leads ne back to Chychrun who is a Sergachev lite on a wicked good contract. Cost would be high but we will soon lose some decent players to waivers the way things are working out.

LD by points last season.
Maybe 5-6 of those could be available due short term left on contract, not the good ones.

We need size and toughness in the lineup. Where that talent sits on the roster, I don't care. We just need some. Forward, defense, whatever.

It seems to me that there will be no more trades and that we see Anderson and Durzi sign.
I think there will be a wait and see approach in stages...first training camp; who surprises to the
upside? Ones like (forwards and D) Kupari? Vilardi? Does QB take over 3C? JAD or Fagemo push
for a spot? (that seems like there are non existent spots)

On D, how does Edler look, now that it's been months since his ankle injury? Is he taking one of the 3 LHD spots? How is Walker looking? LHD spot? Does Toby look ready...and Mikey? Where is he slotting.
Does Spence and Durzi push for the last spot? Forwards - are they cementing a line of Fiala, Kopitar and
Kempe? Or are they mixing them up, to see what combos are working. How is Arvy looking?

Then pre-season games...who is playing with Drew? How does Clarke look in games?
Is the Hiller PP working and players adapting to it?
Once games start, I think it will be a month to see where this team is. And perhaps there
will be some tinkering. Is Petersen looking better?

I think there will be deals during the season and at the deadline as well. The Kings have the ammo
for certain, to make moves. So many assets...the players in the AHL will have a hard time this season,
getting cups of coffee, even; Turcotte, Fagemo, JAD, Thomas, Chromiak, Madden, Grans, etc. Is Lias there?

Faber was the first prospect to be dealt. I feel we will see 1 or more dealt this coming season.
I think LHD will be a target....unless ALL of Edler, Anderson, Bjornfot (Walker?) are just killing it.
But I think that's a bit of wishful thinking.

If the Kings could get a top LHD, that can also play PP #1, that would be the best piece they could
get, for sure. There may be some that will become available. Timing and cap crunch is everything.

Then there's the dreaded injury factor.

At this point, I wouldn't mind if Blake moved one of our RHD for a SHD-RHD.

If were going into the season with a surplus of RHD why not at least address a weakness.

Mark my words Bjornfot starts in the AHL.

Doughty-Anderson
Durzi-Edler
Roy-Walker
Movevare

The only way the Kings deal for a top 4 LH is if they deal Walker or they feel like Edler is on his last legs. Honestly, before his injury and in the playoffs Edler was one of the best and most physical players so don’t see that happening either.

I believe he was insurance to give the Kings a year to lake that big deal for a LHD and use the last year of Bjornfots waiver eligibility.

Would not be mad if they included Bjornfot in the deal - not impressed.
