I think most if not everyone here believes we need a legit LHD that would be top 4 or even top pair on just about any team. And the right age is about 24/25-ish.

What I’ve seen disparity of opinions on is whether we want a two-way PMD who can run PP or a big tough guy who is defensively sound and will help the team be less of a pushover.

Post your opinion here and if there is an ideal player who fits that mold.

I went with tough SAH D.

We have enough guys who can develop into a scoring/PMD roles like Spence, Durzi and Clarke.

Really high quality tough SAH D are rare and valuable.

I voted no need.

Unless there is a guy that can clear the crease, intimidate, skate the puck out of danger, and qb the pp, I don't think the Kings need another D. I don't think this guy exists in today's NHL.

if the Kings are playing lights out, you don't mess with the team. If the Kings are struggling, you let it happen in hopes of the #1. If they are middle of the pack but prospects in LA and Ontario are playing very well, you might package vets to get a guy that can do 3/4 of the qualities I listed above.

Carson Soucy.

Just need time and top situational minutes for Bjornfot and Anderson to gain experience. That's it.

Need a "Sean O'Donnell" type ... don't know if there are too many guys like that still in the league though. Maybe find a way to bring back Brayden McNabb?

Robyn Regehr MK II.

The gap in the system is that type of player. We have Clarke, Spence and in the short term Durzi to manage the pp. The only reason to get a pp specialist now is for instant gratification and to go for it in the next 2 seasons, which would fail.

If we want to be relevant for a long period of time rather than a couple of short play-off performances we need to build patiently. By that I mean a window of being a contender in 2+ years time. We don’t need to be a contender this season, so we have time for Clarke and Spence to be ready to take over the pp.

The gap in the system is the tough, gritty D-Man. We talk about moves that get you get you into the play-offs but further from a cup. Getting another PMD would do just that.

No long term option on the left side can move the puck or contribute offensively, basically at all. I mean Anderson, Björnfot and Moverare are all non factors, the only threats are on the other side. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out an effective game plan playing against that situation.

Toughness is definitely a need too, I don't disagree, but I personally would rather have a really solid top 4 puck mover who plays the left side. We'll see if the "convert a RD to LD" experiment will yield any results, I'm not too confident.

Does it matter if the blue line scoring comes from the left or the right? As long as they move the puck well enough to breakout, which they do.

If we had a competent GM and front office, there absolutely would be a deal to be made for Provy. He'd be a good get

Is this the same Don Nachbaur that raved and raved about JAD? Like he was sure fire and will-make-a-big- impact-NHL-player? Where do you stand now and why this did not happen.

Nothing against JAD, I think he can be a very good 4th line C or W.
