As relates to Rosen and Micheletti only. I'm fine with Giannone and Pidto and Carter, who has grown a LOT the last year or two (and Trautwig, should he return), and I flat out love what Dave Maloney and Valiquette bring.
Agreed on most of the above. I meant only PBP and Color and also Giannone who really annoys the hell out of me with his intensity and seriousness. I can't handle his interviews after the game too. I honestly don't listen to the Rangers broadcast anymore. It's also nice to get other team's perspectives. There's a real positive vibe around the Rangers for the rest of the league which is nice to hear about.

If it comes down to three NHL goalies this summer, Lundqvist should be the one to go one way or another even if they have to buy him out.

If they really foresee a RD problem in the future and want to worry about it now, they should trade Trouba.

They do not have a top center replacement for Zbad anywhere in the organization. At some point that is going to become a really big issue.

They should have last deadline or at the draft tried to trade Kreider for a pick which could have landed Tomasino, or just taken him with the Jets pick instead of trading it for Trouba. (an unpopular opinion of mine at the time)

The only real opinions that have rustled my jimmies in the thread are the "Staals not so bad" ones.

Marc Staal is absolutely terrible everywhere on the ice. The only thing he is adept at is having an active stick, but thats kinda useless when you can just beat him wide, or wait for him to eventually go down to one knee for...reasons?

also I agree with the Tanner Glass stuff.

His hate came from his contract, the list of players we got rid of who were better than him, and his unjustified ice time on a real contender.

don't get me wrong, he wasn't good anything. He was a detriment on the ice, but Haley is way worse than he ever was.

Everyone keeps penciling K'Andre Miller into the 1LD slot, but in reality, Matthew Robertson will end up being a better player than him. Robertson has a much more refined game and will be able to transition to the NHL more easily than KAM. Most people here are going to be totally impatient with K'Andre and ready to throw him to the curb by 2022.

My darkhorse best D prospect. Praying that he turns into a crease-clearing behemoth.
Darkhorse? He was a 2nd round pick just this last year, talk of him being valued as a first rounder by the Rangers and he hung around training camp longer than expected this year and was given an ELC.

He's most definitely not a darkhorse, probably a top 5-7 prospect in our system.

Also, he's a smooth skating and smart solid modern day defenseman who just so happens to be big. He's not going to be a crease clearing behemoth.

I guess my unpopular opinion is I’m not sure about all the Robertson hype. He looked absolutely horrendous in his time up this preseason. Yes he’s too young and raw for the NHL but I really didn’t see a single positive in him at this level.

People who only refer to advanced stats when analyzing hockey are first-level thinkers

The Rangers would have beat the Kings in 2014 if Tortorella was coach.

Glen Sather wasn't as bad as everyone gets on him for. He went for it when we had to go for it and it made sense to.

We didn't have much of a choice but to make those expensive trades for veterans (MSL, Yandle, even Eric Staal) because the team was short on elite talent. In 5-10 years we'll look at the core of that team (Hank, Stepan, Zucc, Kreider, McDonagh) and be surprised it was a legit contender for so long

The team wins the cup in 2014 if Rick Nash doesn't rush back from the concussion Brad Stuart gave him in the beginning of 13-14.

The man was a bull in both the regular season and playoffs in '13 and that concussion really changed the way he was able to force his way to the net.
