Dobson - to Florida

I think Florida desperately needs a PP defenseman. They should also like that Dobson will be an RFA this summer. With the lower taxes in Florida they should be able to re-sign him to a team friendly deal at around $7.5-$8 million cap hit.

As for the return, it’s hard to say for I do think NYI should like something like Lundell plus…they love big two-way forwards…and he still has upside

My TDL predictions:

Lukewarm takes:
Leafs grab a center from someone, maybe Luke Kunin or Yanni Gourde, Scott Laughton if we're really getting crazy

Lightning add a third line winger of some sort, pretty stumped as to who, but perhaps someone like Ryan Donato or maybe Kuzmenko if Philly really does want to flip him as reported

Panthers add a depth defenseman like Luke Schenn or Mario Ferraro

Vegas makes a trade that makes us all say "how do they have the assets and cap space for that?"

Warm takes:
Islanders end up trading away Dobson and Brock Nelson. Would think a team like Washington or Dallas would take a swing at Nelson.

The Sabres don't really do much, end up holding onto Dylan Cozens, maybe move a guy like Samuelsson instead

Hot takes:
Rantanen does not get traded and eventually signs with Carolina either after the deadline or in the offseason

The Ducks make a big addition somewhere and give up Zegras as part of the return

Vancouver lets another team take the headache of Elias Pettersson for any offer that is remotely reasonable

Kings trade Quinton Byfield

Leafs put Marner on the trade block if they are feeling iffy about his ability to extend

Calgary ends up trading Rasmus Andersson after all

The Capitals trade a haul for Brad Marchand (I do not believe they would actually stand pat in what is likely Ovechkin's last real shot at a Cup for the sake of team chemistry when they are low on experience throughout the lineup)

Exactly. Weird thread - it already happened. And nothing will be as big or more surprising. Even in rants gets traded again we are all half expecting it.

Rant- necas trade could be the most surprising of like the decade.

How much is Toronto adding for that salary? It will be expensive.
What salary?

I feel like the Flames will try and take a swing at something again. Frost trade came out of nowhere

Rantanen Was the big surprise.

As for the trade deadline, I think the Calgary Flames put a dynamite in the roster and trade Ramsus Anderrson, Backlund and Coleman.

I'd make that trade in a heartbeat, and I really like Stankoven, which makes me think NYI would never in a million years consider it

...Lou sees Dumba and starts drooling...might be the Alzheimer's kicking in, but he drools nonetheless... :biglaugh:

Toronto sends:
Max Domi to Vancouver

I think Anaheim makes a bold 'we want to be competitive now' move for their roster.

They can still make the playoffs this year and they have a lot of young pieces to dangle.
