I’m not saying these are realistic or anything, but I think a younger forward and a goalie to split time with Korpisalo. Probably needs some additions, value is so hard to figure right now with the contract situation.

Utah - Crouse and Ingram
Colorado - Colton and Georgiev
Vegas - Hill and Roy
Chicago - Mrazek and Donato
Anaheim - Gibson 50% and Zegras

Swap out Crouse for Schmaltz.

Habs offer a worse version of Halak, Ryder and a 2nd.

Primeau, Anderson, and a 2nd.

I also would think Crouse is too much for Utah to consider given his stature in the org, but Schmaltz not really a lot of interest in. Would be a hard trade to work out.

Utah has lots of picks and prospects to add. The top guys like Iginla, Beaudoin, But, Simashev, etc., won't be moved, and I doubt the 2025 first as well. Maybe "B tier" prospects like Julian Lutz or Miko Matikka are of interest. Utah also has UMass goalie Michael Hrabal.

So, where the most likely destination for him if he can't figure it out with the Bruins? This is pretty intriguing, idk how good he really is because he's playing behind the Bruins defense / team structure.

And this is why the Bruins should choose overpayment instead of a trade. No one is gonna give up anything close to on ice value AND pay him too much. So might as well be the Bruins that pay him too much.

Of course, Swayman ain’t gonna go find an offersheet either for the same reasons.

So we stand at an impasse.

Swayman to Anaheim makes zero sense. Especially when it involves retaining on Gibson for 3 years, and trading away Zegras.

Zegras + Dostal > Swayman with a 10+ mil cap hit and 3.5 mil retained on Gibson.

Dostal is the Ducks goalie for the next 10 years.

Well, Swayman goes elsewhere.

Where though? Boston doesn't have a lot of leverage here, especially when you factor in teams that don't have the cap space for Swayman and/or don't need a starting goalie.

If Boston has burned the bridges with Swayman, something involving Demko?
As a concept—I think there is something to a Demko-for-Swayman swap.

There is the obvious mistrust between Boston and Swayman. And there seems to be some mistrust too between Demko and management as well about his injuries and number of games played.

For Boston, I don’t think there is another goalie available on the market at the same level as Swayman or Demko. I imagine the way that the Bruins roster is constructed that they want to win-now and not take a futures package.

For Vancouver, I think they want more certainty in net rather than risk Demko being injured down the stretch for a third-year in a row when the games matter the most. They may have to pay more for goaltending these next two-years—but they wouldn’t necessarily need to carry a third goalie like they currently are either. The cap difference would be something they could navigate. They may also value that Swayman extended now for eight-years would be cheaper than extending a healthy and successful Demko in two seasons from now.

So while I see some logic to it… I doubt it happens. I think Demko’s ongoing LBI is a huge question mark and I don’t think any team would want to acquire that risk unless they had more certainty on his health going forward.
