What if: If the Panthers lost the 2024 SCF, would it be worse than 28-3?

Think about it. Losing four games in a row after being up 3-0 in the Finals vs a 25-point lead in the second half of the championship game? Tough call for me!

No as it could always be worse. The Bills lost four super bowls in a row. 28-3 was literally a guarantee victory for the Falcons. They could’ve just kneeled the ball the whole game and punted on the fourth down. That’s all they needed to do.

Also as a Seattle native, not running the ball is up there when it comes to the worst ways to lose a championship.

It would probably be the biggest choke job of all time for the NHL. When it was 3-0 NOBODY thought the Oilers could hang with them.

Really the difference was games 1-3 Bobrosvky was insane like he was against the other teams and games 4-6 he was the sieve he's always been. Game 7 he was just ok enough to get them the win, if the Oilers had anyone but Skinner in net they complete the comeback.

At least you're not a Titans fan. One yard short from tying the game!!!

It'll be even worse than the 2004 ALCS. 2023 Celtics almost completed a comeback as well, just to fall flat again to a team from South Florida as well.
Celtics - Oilers handshake with the struggles.

You make me laugh but I also feel sorry for you as a Leafs fan.
We know you a closet Panthers fan anyhow.

Well yeah, because NFL has like 0 importance to me. So obviously something important is worse than something entirely unimportant.

Actually, if Draisaitl backchecked with a tenth of Barkov's effort, the Reinhart goal doesn't happen. Bob was great, and so were the boys in Game 7

Plus a healthy Draisaitl, Nurse, and Kane

28-3 was worse. In a 7 game series, each game is a new game. Duke's loss to Houston was worse than losing a 3-0 series lead.

Even behind the 1942 Finals?

It would've looked bad in a vacuum, however the series was close enough that one team shouldn't have been up 3-0 in the first place.

After the Oilers early season struggles and coaching change, they turned every 3-game losing streak into a winning streak. Game 7 was actually the first time they didn't win the 4th game in a row after losing 3.

What I'm trying to say is the Oilers had a ton of confidence in that particular scenario, and if their superstars went nuts in the final game I think you just tip your cap.

I do tip my cap to that. Saw the locker room video of them right after game 7. It was harrowing to see.
