How he sees good things in every loss because "it's about learning"

By next season I hope they replace replace St Louis and take the training wheels off.

Well is the National Hockey Learning.........err wait!

Green Boudreau and Tocchet

None of them healthy scratching Myers

This guy could score on his own team on purpose and they'd be like "honest mistake"

Honestly I don't really have any big problems with Hynes yet. He moved Rossi down the lineup and limited his minutes for a couple games, then it turned out Rossi was sick during those games so I'm giving him another chance.

He split up Kaprizov and Zuccarello again, which is great, put Kaprizov with Ek and Boldy, so we'll see how long that lasts. Seems like he's not afraid to make adjustments like Evason was.

Personnel, tactics and so forth. In general i am pretty happy BUT Lalonde…

…has unreasonable love for Ville Husso who has been flat out ass so far, probably our 3rd best goalie rn

…seems to think that Timeouts are like cell phone minutes that carry over from game to game. Either doesn’t take Timeouts when he should or seems to have them penciled in for late game situations exclusively which doesn’t help the team when it’s on its heels in the 1st or 2nd. So a lack in terms of awareness for situational play.
For me...Lalonde is Blashill the 2nd...Never sure what team you'll see showing up when the puck drops...Inconsistent...Unprepared.

Zero in game adjustments.

Last night prime example. Started Gregor with Matthews and Nylander and he was absolutely horrific. Yet left that line together all game while Gregor was completely out to lunch. Make a f***ing change in game.
100% We only got by Tampa through sheer will, Cooper made adjustments and Keefe just kept trying the same things.
When you play the same team up to 7 times you NEED to make adjustments and Keefe seems unable to pick up that.

St. Louis doesn't really show emotion.

In general I f***ing hate when coaches won't play a bottom 6 player more in a game where said player is going. Rather every coach seemingly loves a bottom 6 player and overplays that player for no f***ing reason.
Maybe they should bring back Therrien then? lol

The single most flaccid limp dicked ineffectual powerplay I've ever seen. And I've seen some uggos.
Not scratching Dillon Dube.

that's about it at 2 months but I'm sure that list will grow

A PP backpass zone entry plan that usually includes throwing the puck 50+ feet back and then having 4 of our players stand at the blueline while the one dude picks up speed.

Starting David Kampf in overtime to win a faceoff which he proceeds to loss and now we got a 4th liner on the ice for like 2 mins and can't get possession.

Well Berube isn’t our coach anymore, but by far the thing that would piss me off the most is that when we were down by a couple goals, he would pull the goalie with like 5 minutes left.

It never worked, we always got scored on immediately. He continued to do the same thing and never changed.

Tocchet:

Too much faith in/overplaying Tyler Myers

Bit of a bias toward North Americans over Russians specifically

Coaching the fun out of the game for Andrei Kuzmenko

Other than that he's been fantastic.

- Lack of adjustments during games
- Overplaying top players even when they're having bad games
- Galaxy braining simple things
- Walking back any criticism for top players
- Embarrassing sound bites when he loses in the playoffs
-I'll assume it's a coaching thing, but the way the team allows the opposing team to enter their zone unscathed. What's funny is the past couple weeks they've done a better job of standing people up at the line and half their defence is AHL.

Pretty much this when Babcock was coaching the wings
Abdelkader was stapled to Datsyuk’s side no matter how bad he was and wouldn’t really give anyone else a chance no matter how well they were playing.

Which also goes to my least favourite coaching tactic of trying the same things over and over again when it’s clearly not working

I forgot the bolded for Keefe.

Keefe seems to embody the "All or Nothing" .... Either no in game adjustments, or the switch flips and he clicks the random button each time he sends out a new line.

Carberry has been a breath of fresh air and just what the Caps needed. I like pretty much all of what he's doing but I'll nitpick on two areas: the power play (which is ass ass) and his love affair with the 4th line. I get Ovi is there but they're embarrassingly bad and the tweaks are not working; they need to completely rethink it. Also, he's changed the top three lines around a lot and has found combinations that now are being successful but the 4th line gets cratered and he doesn't seem keen on trying new things with that line.

I don't know if this is right, but it annoys me when coaches talk about their players with their locker room nicknames. Martin St. Louis does it constantly, it's just weird. St Louis Press Conference: "I really thought Zukes was good tonight, he made that beautiful pass to Muncy on the PP, and Army was there to tuck in the rebound. I found Kovatizer and Billy were steady on the back end, and Snacks was solid in nets". Meh, I don't know why it bothers me...

I have no complaints about Laviolette so far.

Some of the lines aren't ideal, but with the mix of injuries we have, he doesn't really have ideal lines to make.

More of a general habit but i hate that Coaches refuse to show positive emotion/excitement after goals. It's as if they have to suppress it and pretend they are just incredibly focused on the game they can't break for 15s. They all do it and it's too transparent for me, drives me nuts.
