#3-4 LD - a shutdown defenseman, can PK, clear crease area and think defense first

middle 6 RW - preferably a guy who plays more top 6 than top 9

veteran backup goalie - Knight is likely getting called back but ya never know come playoffs.

Have seen other Florida fans talk about Middleton, very intriguing player and could be a fit if Zito doesn't go for HR swing on defense.
Not as familiar with other two to be honest.
Looks like Barabanov is finally breaking out a bit? Is he decent defensively as well?

What what the cost be for Bara and Middleton as a duo or on their own?

Tippett would be the one that can step right into NHL in a middle 6 audition for the rest of the year.
He's a RW, still early 20's and has a 2nd line ceiling.
Was drafted as pure sniper but has developed into more of a power forward with decent passing/play making ability.
He's also fairly physical.

The others listed are still a year or two away from NHL action.
Denisenko is currently injured and his stock is flat lining a bit.
Hutsko has bottom 6 potential, leading Charlotte in points as a rookie.
Schwindt more of an ideal 3C, having a great rookie AHL year.

Vatrano is a UFA to be but capable of 20 or so goals, all even strength and still younger at 27 to be re-signed and fit in.

Tippett has struggled in his 2nd full season, just like others but potential is still there as middle 6 winger.

On name value alone, that's a no from the Avs.

Wouldn't mind Namestnikov as a rental again as long as he's not the main forward addition.
