What do isles fans drive?

The whole ICE vs EV debate will be looked at with nostalgia in the future when it's all self-driving autonomous vehicles and controlling your own car is legislated/insurance-premium'd into oblivion.

It's gonna be wild. I just find the EV experience so sterile. Yes, instant torque, cool. But for me none of that will be more enjoyable than flying through the gears of a car while it roars. I've always had a manual car of some sort, and I know those are almost gone.

I just like the rumble of a car and the engineering it takes to make a motor that powerful. A bigger battery or computer program doesn't do a whole lot for me.

I'm sounding like old man yelling at the sky, but I've been into cars my whole life. The EV's are more for people who aren't as into cars, and that's totally okay. I just want to be able to choose. I want my neighbor to be able to choose an EV that he wants, but I want to have a V8.

I just want autonomous cars so traffic will stop being a thing.
No autonomous cars is fine.

All autonomous cars will be fine.

The messy part is going to be when there are half autonomous cars and half human-driven cars.

Until the autonomous car crashes and then all other cars around it will be shut down out of caution and the traffic is WORSE.

Or they'll divert around the crash in the most efficient way possible to avoid further congestion. ;)

There are definitely risks with autonomous vehicles but I don't think autonomous vehicles crash as frequently as humans do, and it's not always crashes that cause traffic. I actually think that car ownership will change drastically once we reach a certain amount of autonomous vehicles.

Yep, that'll be the challenging part. I suspect that at some point (not saying I agree or disagree) cars will be mandated to be automated. The insurance aspect is another challenge because I doubt car companies will want to be responsible for crashes and why should an owner be responsible for something that they have no control over...

Yeah. I think the process of weeding out self-driven cars will start with insurance premiums going way up. Then there will be a group of wealthy holdouts (imagine the status-symbolism of driving your own supercar when everyone else is being ferried around in pods!). Until one of them crashes into a school bus or something, and then it will be legislated out of existence.
