I watched an interesting segment during a Carolina Hurricanes game.

The Canes employ a scientist who measures the content of each players' sweat after each game and practice.

She then analyzes the sweat to determine what nutrients were lost.

Then she prepares a specific shake for each individual player to drink to restore them to their pre-game/practice levels.

I believe there was an article a couple of years ago about us doing that same thing. I'm talking more in terms of measuring and assessing what is the max workload before performance dips. To me we have been awful in this regard with our players.

Ah, very similar to our oldtimers team.
Our scientist places a cooler of them with an honor jar in the middle of the dressing room.

The way things are looking, I'm gonna cancel NHL Live subscription next season and sign up for DAZN. I enjoy watching boxing more than the Jets these days.

The shot map is not different from
Plus minus - how many slot shots came when rangers were up 4-1… how many happened when the game mattered…
Heat maps and +/- are not the same. Just stop. You’re leading the board in hot takes tonight.

Didn’t say the Jets played well, just saying the perimeter shot narrative is the wrong one to choose tonight.

I hope Chevy also moves on from Stanley at the deadline. There is an opportunity cost to keeping him in that 3rd pairing role and I'd rather see other guys tried in that spot.

Also fail to see what KV brings to the table for the Jets, not much offense there and not much physicality. And to think there were people on this board not so long ago arguing that he was a sniper only being held back by the Jets. I don't think he's going to be in the NHL in 2 seasons. Harkins hasn't been much better but atleast he skates hard and seems to take the opposing D by surprise with his speed once every 5-6 games.

KV sucks. Hes not an NHL player, and likely will never pan out as a top 6 guy. I agree he will be long gone from the NHL in a few years. I get he has been underplayed and used but he just doesnt have much to offer. This teams depth is pathetic. And thats on Chevy. Aside from
The obvious issues of coaching, a lazy 1C, starter having a bad cold year and a slightly overrated and poorly coached defence our forward
Depth is awful. Next to no secondary scoring and real depth. Far removed from a few years ago. And that is on Chevy. We badly miss Appleton, Roslovic, Tanev. We got the wish versions of those guys in KV and Harkins

Why isn’t Comrie being played more? Looks like my season ticket group wants to give up our tickets next year
Mine as well. I think True North may be in a bit of trouble for the first time. Interesting to see how they handle it. The entire product the present has gone stale and is worn out in my opinion. Time for a change or people just wont care to attend or tune in.

Hellebuyck is very good, the team just doesn't have it together. But Hellebuyck playing the puck is a very bad thing.
He hasn’t been very good all season. The only possible slack I can cut him is that he’s overworked. At this point there is nothing to lose to give Comrie a lot more starts.

I agree - Helle needs to take some time off and sort his game out.

The problem is, we have a GM who thinks we still have a chance - that should end soon.
And when it does, we can give a few players an opportunity to make an impression with basically no pressure.

And if it doesn't, it will be painful to watch and an opportunity lost.

That Trouba guy looked pretty good. That Pionk guy, not so much.
I guess the comparison is being made here because they were traded for each other? Because overall that trade was a steal for us, if you’re inferring that it wasn’t (can’t really tell is that’s the aim of this post or not so pls take with a grain of salt if I’m off base here :))

I think Chevy knows this year is his last chance. And if they don't make the playoffs he is getting fired. So that's what he's hoping for. This post is purely conjecture / wishful thinking.

Would be surprised if he got fired ever.

Disagree. I think Chevy's seat isn't even warm yet. He gets another fulltime coach to right the ship. Unlike some of the other GMs that have been fired (Bergevin/Benning) one can't point to any obviously bad moves by him since the Stempniak debacle (closest is the Hayes trade but one could be forgiven for that trade as the Jets were a contending team that season and it turned out to be the last season of Jets contention). TNSE gives him a go with another coach imo.

This looked like a Jets game from the prior two years except opposite. We unload on their goalie who stands on his head while they score on almost all of their chances. It was like looking in a mirror.

I don't want to hear about not going to the net, we had players trying to go into the middle of the ice and slot all game.

Outside of lineup and systems that this org needs to get a hold on is its ice time allocation. Our vet players are all significantly overplayed now. JoMo is now playing stupid amounts and it shows at times in some of his decisions with the puck. Helle has been played into the ground and Mark and Blake have been overplayed for a long time now. Does this org not have a sports science department? If they don't they need to invest in one. We need all out players playing in a minute/game range that allows them to perform near the best of their ability as consistiently as possible.

A positive to me is Ves seems to be finally finding space to get his shot off.

When Dr. Slaunwhite left for the NBA did the Jets ever replace his position?
