Its possible, but I think something is out of sorts for him... he looks off. I think (hope actually) that its just a simple problem of too much ice time. He needs way more games off for a while. His puck handling is always shakey but now its actually poor... with a few exceptions.

The puck handling aspect is certainly a poor part of his game. Dallas had both of their goalies practicing puck handling in warm-ups Friday night before the game. Oetinger was doing long cross ice passes to guys on the point that were shooting and Holtby was stick handling and shooting at the boards in the neutral zone. I don't watch much of the Jets warm up but don't recall seeing our goalies doing any puck work pre-game.

no he didn't he literally said he was keeping the same system that maurice was using with some tweaks when he first took the job...
Watch the early games - we played zone D overload and were cycling the puck on PP

only hood over is abandoning the collapsing box on pk - everything else is back to Maurice

no, we have played the exact same system all season... regardless of wheeler being in the line up or not

Doesn’t matter, anytime the Jets lose, the same narratives come out regardless. Facts are irrelevant, preconceived bias’s are confirmed.

3 reasons they lost
Defensive breakdowns
Goaltending
PP

The Jets PP is feast or famine. Much like the rest of the team, zero consistency.
The shot map is not different from
Plus minus - how many slot shots came when rangers were up 4-1… how many happened when the game mattered…

Let’s agree to disagree - your point is that we are still playing Maurice’s system and it still sucks? Then we agree

I think that being a new father has affected him (not getting enough sleep). Remember how awesome Khari Jones was for the Bombers? Once he became a father, it was downhill after that. Not saying that's the reason, but there are some similarities...:dunno:

This looked like a Jets game from the prior two years except opposite. We unload on their goalie who stands on his head while they score on almost all of their chances. It was like looking in a mirror.

I don't want to hear about not going to the net, we had players trying to go into the middle of the ice and slot all game.

Outside of lineup and systems that this org needs to get a hold on is its ice time allocation. Our vet players are all significantly overplayed now. JoMo is now playing stupid amounts and it shows at times in some of his decisions with the puck. Helle has been played into the ground and Mark and Blake have been overplayed for a long time now. Does this org not have a sports science department? If they don't they need to invest in one. We need all out players playing in a minute/game range that allows them to perform near the best of their ability as consistiently as possible.

A positive to me is Ves seems to be finally finding space to get his shot off.

Helle has been bad with the puck for years. Makes me wonder why the goalie coach is still drawing a cheque.

rofl at the people who said we only got perimeter shots...
and also the person who said the rangers don't allow people in front of their net, I don't think I saw a single one of them play a body on our forwards..

Yup, we had a tonne of slot chances tonight.

I watched an interesting segment during a Carolina Hurricanes game.

The Canes employ a scientist who measures the content of each players' sweat after each game and practice.

She then analyzes the sweat to determine what nutrients were lost.

Then she prepares a specific shake for each individual player to drink to restore them to their pre-game/practice levels.

You’re excited about Ves’s shot in his six
Minutes of playing time?

I hope Chevy also moves on from Stanley at the deadline. There is an opportunity cost to keeping him in that 3rd pairing role and I'd rather see other guys tried in that spot.

Also fail to see what KV brings to the table for the Jets, not much offense there and not much physicality. And to think there were people on this board not so long ago arguing that he was a sniper only being held back by the Jets. I don't think he's going to be in the NHL in 2 seasons. Harkins hasn't been much better but atleast he skates hard and seems to take the opposing D by surprise with his speed once every 5-6 games.

Maybe that this team needs is chevy stop pretending . “ I like this group “ is crap .

For once just say we are selling because the team isn’t doing good . Show them your own accountability

Actions speak louder then words. I'm sure everyone will get the message when players are moved out in a few weeks.

There really is no accountability eh? No pressure on helle to perform. Scheifele never sits in the press box. Wheeler 1st line icetime no matter what. Captain never raises his voice to teammate. Coaches are never stern with anyone. Inmates running the asylum.
