Thing I'll always say about Hall is he was the one player you could point at on a team, that if you brought a kid to the game you could say this is Taylor Hall, watch him, watch his signature rushes, watch him fly, watch him bring it, and he would. His performance was actually quite professional on a bad club. Hall would bring the Hall package pretty much every game. With Hall you always knew what you were getting.
I probably could have worded my post a little better. I meant to say I don’t think Seguin would have worked out here at all. He left Boston quickly and I don’t think it would have been much different for him here as he’d have been under even more scrutiny here.

Well one of the reason why his plays are so distinct and hasn't changed all that much was because he still plays a junior style hockey from the time he was drafted until now.
He went to the well he knew, and could do. Point is he was actually bringing it. I don't think Taylor Hall had the ability to go hands in traffic and protect puck through players. He used peripheral burn speed because that was his ticket. As he went on in fairness he developed other things too and in slot plays and such and had better hands than given credit for. The fishbowl here is that every player ever gets compared to the Glory years Oilers. Indeed its even why Miro Satan who was can't miss scorer at the time was traded in a mind numbingly dumb deal. Just the kind of thing this org does. To anybody watching Satan was gonna score a lot of goals.
Plus that the org scrutiny here was so negative on players. From Lowe, from MacT, they all felt they had it over players. They were very caustic with players and an org even going more that way specifically hiring guys like Pat Quinn and Eakins to basically malign the players and bring them to bootcamp. With Lowe particularly it was if he secretly despised younger players and man, that guy in person was a Grade A ahole. The "6 rings" thing was just a tip of the iceberg. Guy was constantly offputting. This was also the time frame of MacT getting into it with Penner and the org blaming a playoff exit on Mike Comrie. Just a shitty place to play for years. Then Cal Nichols asking Pronger "who wears the boots in your family" cringe cringe.
Oiler fans would have tore Seguin to sheds especially if Hall went to Boston and won a cup his first year.
