Hello all,

I know some are still digesting the elimination of the team last night and some might be emotional still.

If you're upper management what are the two things you want the coaching staff to improve for next season?

Note: this is not meant to be a thread to bash MSL. He's done a tremendous job this year.

Just keep getting better.

I'm much more invested in what roster changes HuGo will make.
Marty has already improved , I mean it's expected , he's learned that he CAN double shift his best player and also that he can call a timeout when the ship is sinking , something he never did last year.

He played Monty too much this year but its more by neccesity since we were running on *every game is the most important of the season* for almost the whole year

Honestly, it’s the second youngest team in the 3rd year of a rebuild and they made the playoffs. It’s all about experience and filling some holes. We shouldn’t be talking about improvements to coaching until they’re actually competitive. I’d say if you’ve improved year after year, your coaching is doing a fine job

Good poll, Id vote for almost all options if I could.

He's done well so far but still so much to improve on.

They will be competitive as soon as next year most likely unless we take a step back somehow. Coach needs to keep improving alongside his roster now that we are getting better

I love this coaching staff. They get A+. All the haters can get f***ed.;)

No bias in favor of MSL because he’s a Hab.
I really like Carbonneau. Yes, even the bowling.
I was OK with Vigneault.
I didn’t like Julien and Martin’s anti-hockey.
And I was already done with Bergevin the day he hired Therrien (Jean-Charles was dropped on his head as a child)

Start on time, but that isn't entirely on the coaching staff.

That's on the leadership group and on Hughes as he needs to bring in real energy forwards.

A better PP system, but again that's not entirely on the coaching stuff. It's not just on the system, but the players. The Habs need someone who's an absolute menace in front of the net AND actually big enough to screen the goalie.

Whether that's tell Slaf, or go and sign/trade for someone who can.

They need to hold vets accountable.

Usage of timeouts 100%.

If league makes TV stoppages 120 seconds like they tested during 4 Nations I'm curious if we see even less timeouts get called except for the obvious situations.

1 - Defensive zone coverage
2 - Offensive zone structured entry and forecheck

The basics, very achievable.

Just Git Gud

Heavily invest in Demidov, make sure he becomes the superstar we want, everything else will fall in place thereafter. Kings dont win their SC without Kopitar, TB no bueno without Kucherov...

Usage of Time outs and starting games.

Everything else still requires work but I've seen improvement over the year. PP1 looked great in the playoffs and our PK has been solid.

If we can play a full game when at 5v5 and use our timeouts better the team will improve without a doubt.

Get some fresh blood and ideas behind the bench, even if St Louis cannot be moved. Get someone who can challenge St louis.

Second line centre, Dach on the wing, Newhook on the 3rd and a defenceman who can score. Shore up the 4th with size. Boom.
