I made the grave mistake of trying to talk some sense into the morons on the mainboard. I swear it's like the mainboard is where all the 12 year olds go to talk about things they dont understand.

"3 of LA's wins were in OT"
"Nah rangers had no chance"

Do we have a doctor in the house for these people?

When Martinez scored I turned the game off, went to bed and woke up with the feeling that this team (with some minor tweaks) can play for the cup again next season.

Its been a fun ride and i hope i see you all again when the puck drops in a couple of months.

EXACTLY! Why am I the only one who sees SO much positivity moving forward? And PS anyone who said we "over achieved" ... F 'EM .. truth is we came together and showed how much talent this team really has when we are all clicking. The sum of it is ... we came a few bounces and a call here and there away from this going to a G7 at min. The Kings were the better team and capitalized on everything there is NO shame in losing to that team, they are a bunch of studs.

The silver lining in this is what our core is still very much intact.

We just need to re-sign stralman/kreider and going under the assumption that the buy out is used, replace richards.

Nash...i don't know. He's clearly not the moron that most think he is but how long can we wait for the real nash to show up.

If this team could have won in OT, or that goal in game 2 was called off, this would have been a totally different series.

Good for the Rangers - i'm not ready to give up on Nash, this was good for him. Cap going up, Nash's hit will be less noticeable in future years. Richards on the other hand, only way i'd feel bad about buying him out is if this team won the cup.

As a long suffering Jackets fan unfortunately for NY I think the real Nash is alive and well in NYC.

I thought the Kings outplayed (or at least outshot) the Rangers and probably should have won. But for two questionable calls-the no goalie interference in Game 3 and the trip by Muzzin on Zucc that was called the other way, the Rangers could very well be leading 3-2.

Very nice run by the Rangers and you guys should be very proud of your team.

Nash was actually playing well for the most part. Couldn't get on the board to save his life, but playing well. Post olympics he was doing neither so there's that i guess.

Klein supposed crease clearer failed to tie up the king defender.

He's a bum.

Klein was fantastic all playoffs long. It took HFNYR a long time to realize how solid he was playing for us.

That OT winner was just a miscommunication at the worst time between him and Zucc.

I am proud of the boys, but I just echo what Girardi said. "You never know if you'll get another chance at this."

That's what has me hurting the most this morning, yeah we were underdogs, yeah we were on a great run, but you never know if you will ever get back here.

I vehemently disagree.

And rangers won't make the playoffs when slats inevitably let's Stralman walk and keeps this bum in the top four.

Can you tell me the winning lottery numbers while you are at it?
I don't understand the blind hatred you have for the man whatsoever. Even if stralman left, which i highly doubt sather is stupid enough to let happen, We still have Mclrath coming up.

12 hours after losing the Cup Final and this is what you're worried about? Give it a rest, at least in this thread. Let me tell you if Stralman hadn't bailed out his own screw up in game 4 at the goal line, the Rangers might have been swept. We wouldn't have heard a peep out of you about it.

Our entire defense had a spectacular playoffs, and that includes Girardi. We should be proud of them instead of crying about specific instances. No one on the team was a bum.

Great run, reminded me of my first in 1979, and to a lesser extent the 84 loss on the Morrow OT goal.

Either way it was an entertaining ride following this team, as a fan I got my moneys worth. Very proud of this team, still very upset with management who could have put together a better deeper team that could've been more of a challenge in the final. Imagine having Tarasenko on the PP:D

OH well, back to the drawing board, gonna be one of the most important offseasons in recent memory.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Stralman's a fantastic defensemen - smart, moves the puck, doesn't get flustered ... a winning player.

We don't know what McIlrath is yet. I hope he is an NHL'er.

You forgot to mention a guy the devils cut in training camp. :sarcasm:

Stralman is the easy choice. Klein isn't a a bad defensemen in his own right either. Mclrath is the backup plan. Of course in a perfect world there is no backup plan and stralman resigns immediately.

Free agency is essentially 2 weeks away. That is nuts. we got to watch the rangers play until TWO WEEKS till free agency.

I will not believe that good things can happen until the Rangers go out and prove it. I began watching hockey sometime in the 95-96 range and my earliest coherent memories of Ranger games come from the 97 run to the Eastern Conference Finals. I remember being so desperate for young talent that I convinced myself at one point that Chad ****ing Wiseman was a legitimate prospect. I still have yet to see a single homegrown star level forward emerge on this team in my entire time watching them. Maybe Kreider will break out next year. He'd be the first.

My father watched this team from the early 60s until his death in February. Over that time he saw one Cup, the massive waste of potential that was the 70s Rangers, and a whole lot of terrible hockey. The best Rangers season I got to share with him was the utter disappointment of the 2012 squad.

It was exciting to see the Rangers in the final, but they can't really give me what I want anymore. The games end and there's quiet because the man I used to talk to about them is six feet under now. What's there to say? I'd still love a Cup, but I wouldn't be shocked if I never even see them come close again. I'll say it again: The Rangers have to prove good things can actually happen.

It hurts to be so close but at the same time I don't think I could've been prouder of this team.

Exactly how I feel. Make some adjustments in the offseason and use this experience to make another run :handclap:

This experience will really help the core of this team.
