Rumor: Western teams interested in Mike Condon?

Can't see the sharks doing it. DW said a few months back he wants to see what we have first before making any moves. Imo we see Dell as the backup for the first quarter of the season at least. Can't see him blowing assets on Condon right now

DW is a notorious tire-kicker so it wouldn't surprise me if he did but Nashville could be in the market for a backup as well.

how about Condon and ANdrighetto for Yakupov in edmonton

I was a big fan of yakupov and he probably still turn his career around somewhere else, but we dont realy have room for him with gallagher, radulov and shaw, unless desharnais is traded and shaw rides the third line center and yakupov coming as a third line offensive winger i dont see it happen

Maybe for a players like Wingles,Andreoff,Martinsen.....Habs forwards are to small and soft.....McCarron will probably play with the Ice Caps so.....

Mike Condon could be a safe choice for a Western Conference team as a backup goalie.

He looked okay until about December or so, then he began to crap the bed, granted it was a tough situation for a rookie goalie.

You may be right that he can settle in for a stable backup job. He was pretty good in a spot duty role even though the sample size is small.

But something tells that he will have to earn his next NHL shot the hard way... grinding in the minors, reclaiming his status, and relying on some injuries to get his next opportunity

Who would be interested in Condon as a #2 solution? Which Western teams have that kind of need? I know we are not going to get a 1st rounder...don't worry....but who could be interested? And what could be the return IF that's the only thing going from the Habs....

Price (.8404) faced 10.715 sh/gm
10.715 X .8404 = 9.005 HSC shots /gm are saved.
10.715 - 9.005 = 1.71 GA/gm

Condon (.7751) faced 9.685 HSC sh/gm
9.685 X .7751 = 7.507 HSC shots saved per game
9.685 - 7.507 = 2.18 GA/gm

look at price (.8404) facing 2 ends of spectrum
8.200 X .8404 = 6.891
8.200 - 6.891 = 1.31 GA/60

11.8 X .8404 = 9.917
11.8 - 9.917 = 1.88 GA/60

we see the best goaltender in the game having .57 GA variance from both ends of range from Dmen preventing/Allowing HSCA Goals.

Take the best HSC starter with worst HSCA shot count
Price 1.88 GA/60
and
compare it to the worst Starter goalie with the best Shot count.
Rinne .7678 X 8.2 = 6.30
8.2 - 6.3 = 1.90 GA/60

now look at the 30 ranked goalie
Reimer .8017 X 8.2 = 6.57
8.2 - 6.57 = 1.63
a slightly below average goalie with the best HSCA d beats the best goalie in the game with the worst D.

That is why in my HSCA theory:
HSCA shot prevention is the most important part of the game.

You try and get as many of the best HSC shot prevention D.
and
get rid of the Worst.

Weber #2 HSCA D 7.04 HSCA Shots per game
was a victim of the worst HSCA save% starter.
7.04 X .7678 = 5.405
7.04 - 5.405 = 1.64 GA/gm

and
one of the 40 worst HSCA d performance was hidden by the best goalie.
Subban 12.84

12.84 X .8404 = 10.791
12.84 - 10.791 = 2.05 GA/gm

Can you imagine 18-20 minutes of weber in front of Price.

7.04 X .8404 = 5.916
7.04 - 5.916 = 1.12 GA/60

so to the point.

Condon is useless!

He is what I call a playoff destroyer!

Condon is a solid goalie. He was thrown to the wolves last season in his first NHL season. He wasn't as bad as some of the more radical hab fans will tell you. While playing as a backup goalie under Price (which was his role), he was rather good.

He will still become a reliable backup goalie in the NHL IMO.

Id be okay with a mid to late round pick or a mid level prospect. Might as well get something for him rather than lose him on waivers. Can't expect too much for a young backup goalie with not much experience.

Condon for Wingels would be a steal for Montreal. Wingels is something the Habs need in our bottom 6.

Condon is a decent backup goalie. Quite good at making the first save. But:

- Overcommits in his movements
- Gives juicy rebounds
- Under average at playing the puck around his net

I think he will be traded for a borderline NHL/AHL D. Would prefer a 4th round pick.

Don't think San Jose' fan think the same...he is the 13th for many....but i don't like his salary.....

San Jose is going to go with Aaron Dell to start the season and see what happens. It's doubtful that the Sharks make a move until then.

Every team in the league has a backup goalie like Mike Condon....but if a team needs to acquire a goalie to expose in the expansion draft, then he might make sense for somebody.

I have no idea what Joakim Ryan is all about, but I think MTL would be looking for more than a smallish 7th round defenceman.

Joakim Ryan is a beast. MTL would win on that trade.

i think a late pick only. Does someone want him bad enough that they wouldn't settle for the 2nd or 3rd best goalie that will be on waivers?
