hopefully msl stops breast feeding the team and actually challenges them. Seems like he doesn’t do that. Nobody ever benched or held accountable. He should be the coach but I don’t see much of a backbone yet
How much could you really expect out of this roster, even in the best case scenario? Things are going about how anyone with some sense expected.

The start of the season was the anomaly, not what we’re seeing now.

We’re in for what’s probably going to be a painful, but necessary rebuild.

That was always the plan, if you read between the lines. Hughes just wasn’t/isn’t going to say it explicitly.

Finally. You’ll look back on these seasons fondly in a few years.

Man he is bad. Even KK had a better rookie season
Pick was questionable (although Shane Wright also sucks right now) but his development has been brutal. The one time they promote him Monahan gets injured longterm. They have no interest in trying to get him going offensively, they want him to learn 5v5 play first for some reason. Habs wanted to take a shot drafting a unique player (which he can still become) since this upcoming draft will have multiple players better than Wright. I think the real unique player is Jiricek since there are really no good young dman besides Chychrun available, and this draft isn't strong for dmen.

What did Marty say in the post game? This is a proper meltdown... It will be really interesting to see how the new regime handles this. There are going to be some frustrated people around the team.

I expect them to be competitive Oz, I didn't say I expected the 77 habs did I? They went from fun to watch to unbearable to sit through. I don't need a reality check but I do want to see them compete and not get blown out, that is not good for them either.

I wasn't talking about you.

We had an easy schedule and created an illusion.

I find it odd that people are comparing MSL to Dumb Dom... this is still the same team. It doesn't have any pieces that MSL has brought it yet - not counting the rookies. So what did people expect would change?

Still the same loser mentality with the same loser players. We have TWO good forwards and ONE with potential. That's it.
The real problem was the good start. A lot got sucked into the excitement and started believing this was a good team, heck there was even talk of playoffs. Well hello to you guys, it was unsustainable. A few more years and we should be trending like the Sabres. Hopefully we get a ppg player this draft.

The meltdown is happening because there are frustrated players on the team already.

Vets are frustrated they are getting replaced by kids and aren't part of the team long term plans. The same thing happened in Detroit a few years ago when they started their rebuilt.

Every vets above 25 years old is on its way out in the next two seasons (except Gallagher with his unmovable contract and Matheson).

That was the year they drafted mah-mah-my Zadina.

Hopefully, we're doing the same in a better draft year.
