Seems like Nurse will be ok, good news there.

And Reeves should get 10 games and shouldn't really even be in the league, but I will give him kudos for apologizing face to face before the night was over

Good on Reeves for the apology .. the guy should just retire though..

You watch Janmark intensity out there and compare him to RNH. Jam is blowing him out of the water. Once again tonight Janmark in a scoring play and also generated a tying goal late before we pulled goalie. Was all over it and just a tenacity about him. He's being so much value. Then theres RNH who is barely even noticeable out there. A guy that should be on a Marner level.
RNH looks like he doesn't even want to play. He is effin brutal. I wish Kane was back quick I'd sit this losers ass for at least a few games

Pretty much every other stat is window dressing, this one pretty much tells the story. Don't have that championship caliber shutdown mentality at this point.
It’s terrible game management. People will point to the scoring chances against but if your not scoring a lot we aren’t it’s pretty easy to blow games in the last 10 minutes if your giving up all your grade A looks then.

That's very encouraging. Concussion symptoms can be delayed so hopefully he's still feeling ok over the next few days. Can't really afford to lose him right now.

The lack of scoring is definitely an issue. This team is among the worst teams in the League in goal scoring and (along with a few other things like the PP and PK) it just isnt nearly good enough.

I don’t agree. They will allow 3 shots to teams in the 3rd and 2 will go in.
When one is a breakaway and the other is a pass from your D right to a guy in the slot that will happen.

Tonight is a perfect example of how game management costs you. 5 min PP early and played pretty well for about 50 minutes but couldn’t get that 3rd goal to extend the lead. Then in the last 10 two brutal shifts that should get you benched by Bouchard and all of a sudden we’re down a goal.

15 pages and no one dared to call out another shitty performer.
McDavid was on every TML goal against and did his share of screw ups.

Brown Janmark, Henrique line should've been given more TOI.

I’m not expecting Skinner to stop all 3 of those goals but if he even stops one of them we likely win.

Stolarz save on Henrique after we went down 3-2 was as challenging as any save Skinner had to make tonight. That's all I'm going to say on the "Oilers give up better scoring chances" argument. Skinner just keeps getting himself into trouble. I don't blame him at all on the 2-2 goal that was just a dumb play by Bouchard. The breakaway 3-2 he basically screws himself over because he hesitates on a puck he should have been able to get to to negate the breakaway, and then he just freezes so now he's about 5 feet outside of his crease and is completely flat footed. He basically handed that goal to the Leafs because there was no chance in the position he put himself in that he was going to be able to stop a deke at full speed. The OT winner I've already touched on. Purely guessing and hoping the puck hits him there.

My problem with Skinner this year isn't even his usual faults. We already know his lateral movement sucks. It always has. My problem is he is making absolutely atrocious reads and decisions and is taking away his biggest redeeming quality which used to be his calm positional play. That's generally the sign of a goalie who is in his own head, or who has quite literally zero confidence that he can stop a shot, and thats a horrible quality to have in a starting NHL goalie on a cup contender.

If it was only tonight and he didn’t play the breakway like a pylon you would have a point.

Unfortunately Bouchard has that element in his game. The element where his game disintegrates in mid play. Inexplicable brain farts and it doesnt seem to matter if the puck is on his stick or not.
If he is going to make anything near $10M he absolutely has to eliminate that from his game.
He has to learn how to stay engaged.

Hate that feeling like every good chance against will be in our net. This eats away at the players too over time, guys start playing scared/tentative and all that does is make things worse. Honestly would consider Pickard getting a run of games. Skinner needs a wakeup call again.

The PP has been off since the start. Needs a tune-up because motivational speeches won’t work. Put in Brown for Nuge for starters. Give the players some structure besides “follow McD’s lead”.
Nuge needs to be punted off the top unit. He needs to remember that the 1PP spot is earned and not a guarantee. I'd maybe try Henrique there over Brown since Henrique is more of a shooting threat.
Nuge brings nothing. He needs to be off the first unit and off the top six. I would move him if there were any takers
He won't be moving but I agree that if he doesn't snap out of his current play that he should have to work his way back up to the top 6 and 1PP. I'm wondering if Savoie might be ready to get a shot on the top PP unit for a bit?
