Islands in the stream.
So Its surreal seeing that breakaway unfold. Any other goalie you'd hope he comes out and races out to that puck. But its Skinner so you know "race" isn't even possible so you think he should stay in net. He confounds any option of a save by coming 10feet out and freezing. He's not even in his crease. Easy goal. Just tuck it by him and stuff the empty net. NHL moving too fast for Skinner.

And other teams make them too and get bailed out by their goalies.
Fans of this team have been subjected to bad goaltending and terrible defense for so long that they have been Stockholm syndromed into thinking that team defense has to be perfect to win games, and that even one mistake is inexcusable. The reality is that teams frequently make big mistakes and give up high danger chances against. Watching any games around the league confirms this. Other teams just have goalies that can save more than 50% of high danger chances.

Bouchard meatriders please go cheer for another team, the guy is horrendous, can’t hit the net from 20 feet. Shits the bed every game. And with him out there with Skinner in net? Forget about it.

I tuned in late to see what was up. Immediately to see Bouchard tune a simple dee-zone pass off his own player (you know what ensued) and then not even half-ass it back only to watch a 4th line opposing player out-maneuver his partner and deke his goalie out?

God forbid they ask NHL players to play even more games somehow, ala the soccer universe. The don't care attitude is already strong enough for a pre-season, an 82 game season, and an interminable playoffs. Not that fans will ever get a say.

Anyways. That was an insane few minutes to witness, but probably Oilers fans are used to insane crazy bad shit by now.
