Skinner needs to go. His style is the worst. He will never be the contributor a winner requires. Being fearful of him being something on another team is ridiculous, his style and athleticism is shattering his mental game and the teams.
What person with permanent brain damage is scared of Stuart little on another team llol

And according to Soundwave things are all good defensively.
5 high danger chance for 2 against that third period. (2 goals against)
Game before 1 for 2 against (1 goal against)
Game against the Islanders 7 for 0 against. (3 goals against)
You can’t win games when your goalies are allowing EVERY quality chance in (or more goals than quality chances) in the third period.

Our team is literally elite at quality chance suppression. Like…literally BEST in the league.
You’d say if we as a team is the best at something…the team is probably good at that? Right?

Actually yeah he is. That's pretty much literally the job description.

None of the first 3 goals are really on Stu but the team just played yet another game where their goalie couldn't come up a single key stop when that was all they needed to win.
You know, just maybe up 2-1 with 6 minutes left you don’t give up open looks on net. Skinner deserves blame, especially with that awful play in OT, but our coaching staff has no problem with giving up in our end and having any accountability as long as McDrai outscore.

I was just going to ask about him. Does he look like he might be NHL ready? I know its a tough question to answer.

Because I didn't reup with the AHL's new, expensive game provider, I watch a lot less Condors compared to the last couple years. I've only seen one Condors game this year, at my friend's place. From what I saw THAT game, Rodrigue was very good. He looked cool, confident. The opposite of what we saw in preseason.

Blew the 4 of the last 5 games late in the third regardless of which goalie was in net. They consistently let guys in behind them with the bench yelling.
Disagree. There’s a good chance Pickard stops Knies and/or races out to the puck first before McMann gets there.

Not even going to mention the OT goal where he literally squares up to Bouchard instead of Marner lol.

If we’re so elite on chance suppression why are the vast majority of goals against coming on wide open looks.

Mountains
POOPchard on any other team in the league would be scratched the next game but he will be rewarded with the 1st PP unit and over 20 mins of ice time.

It's very impressive this team is above .500 with Skinner in net, he is not even a backup at this point.
Pickard has most of the wins lol

No wonder this group is depressed, having had a championship level team with a backup goalie last year. And still have him again this year.

If we did we blow them away. They had a chance to put them away and played like pansies. That third period took me back to the decade of darkness. Just flipping the puck out with no real plan.
I don’t feel like you have actually ever watched hockey teams play.
Almost EVERY single team in the league, even the good ones, play like that in the third period on the road while up by 1.
ESPECIALLY with a top 4 d down.

Wtf was Evan doing on that 3rd goal against. That's the type of sht that ends careers and sends players down for life. Gives the puck away in the offensive zone, to a player breaking out, he then STOPS skating and lets Ekholm handle his rudimentary grave mistake while he watches them score like a fan in a seat. Un fcking acceptable. I think the entire league will fully understand a one game healthy scratch. That doesn't belong in the NHL. Absolutely putrid display of NHL level defending by Bouchard, again.

But imo, he'll come around. He always does. He's the type to improve steadily as the season progresses. By playoff time, we'll see the dominant Evan Bouchard again.
But for Stuart Skinner, its time. We need move on from this AHL goaltender. Any other franchise and he's backup at best. That OT goal was just as putrid as Bouch's giveaway. 2 on 1, defender effectively blocks the pass, lets in a standard shot at normal speed in, after his team bailed him out again by tying the game

Personally, im fkn done with Stuart Skinner

Remember when Campbell at least went rogue that Minnesota wild game where we stopped playing D. Does skinner have that ability? Even here and there? He made some good saves on Carolina.

I was telling my wife when I seen it was 2-1 with eight min left to look at the score in ten minutes and what do you know lol.

They should be on the phone with Grier tonight. Flip SJ a 3rd and give a 2nd team a 4th for 50% retention and bring in Blackwood at no added cap hit. It's a gamble, but at this point they really only can afford a gamble and he has elite qualities to his game. I remember when a Flames team traded for a highly athletic 27 year old from SJ who hadn't yet established himself as a starter. Worked out pretty good for them.

Because no teams are perfect?
You do realize we get wide open looks nightly too right? Even against elite defensive teams right. Sometimes they go in, sometimes Nuge whiffs, sometimes the goalie saves it.
Seems here, it ALWAYS goes in against us. What does that tell you?

Sounds reasonable. It just seems that with Skinner there isn't that cool confidence that you mentioned. Every save seems to be an adventure or a freak out.

Skinner's fat ass made it half way before he realized he wouldnt make it, and then couldnt get back in time.

Skinner should be forced to shave that thing off his lip until he plays better.

Play like a loser, he should look like one too.
