This team has come back after being down 2-0 before, and that one time they were down 3-0...

They came back in 2013 after the Blues won the first two games, and same thing happened with the 2001 after they lost to the Wings in the first two games.

Let’s see if this team has the same gumption and testicular fortitude. Play with some f***ing urgency, it’s the muthaf***ing playoffs, bitches.

I wonder if having a slightly rested, highly pissed off Doughty may turn the series around.

A lot will probably depend on how exhausted the rest of the roster looks from the opening faceoff. Been most of 8 periods with hoping to get to the next shift without giving up a goal.

These games have been on the road, and they haven't had 2-3 of their top 5 defenseman for all 8 periods, but Doughty may or may not make a difference. They need a lot more from a lot of players.

This series feels a lot more like 2016 than 2013 or 2014. We even have an injured core defenseman.

I just don’t think this team has any gumption left in the tank outside of Quick. Vegas is annihilating us in every possession metric known to man. And they’re doing that on the back of a pretty poor face off performance. That means the Kings start off with the puck, the Knights take it away, and never let go of it. That’s scary. That’s what the Kings used to do to teams.

Unless Muzzin eats a sensu bean, AND Stevens figures out more effective line combinations, this series is done. Quick is not going to play like this every night.

If Muzzin and Forbort are healthy, I think this series is 1-1, and we have a real shot. But they’re missing guys, too. They’re just a better, younger, faster, hungrier team. It is what it is.

Probably a good thing I stayed out of this GDT last night,

That game as better than the 1st one in terms of excitement, watchability, great plays by both teams, and yet reading most of the posts in here you would think we lost 10-0 and didn't show up.

Besides Quick being unreal, a huge reason why the Kings were in that game was faceoffs, can't overestimate how big winning 60% of the draw is, especially with a D core that the Kings were forced to dress.

LaDue and Fantenberg both played well, had some hiccups, Fantenberg with that pinch in the 1st OT, man, you can't do that. Gravel meh, played ok at times, got his feet crossed over on the GWG, and for those of you blaming him on the 1st goal, that's just unedited hate for a player you didnt like already.

Kings had some solid chances, and a bounce or two going there way, we go back 1-1.

I liked the Kempe, Clifford, Toffoli line, I realize that leaves Carter with not much help, but that Kempe line is simply more effective.

Hopefully no OT on Sunday, these late nights are killing me.

First in the off season we need to change our boards for the livelier ones like these, same as Ottawa why do you think Karlson has so many assists each year 41 home games to miss wide and have it come instantly in front DD would have 80+ .....second Stevens needs to adjust during the game more , stack the lines occasionally during the game instead of waiting for a PP to at least change momentum, we are playing a team of 2/3 liners that are 4 lines deep no one else has this so it looks bad at times but quote " younger, faster ,hungrier team , better" is bullshit its as if we had a team full of Kempe and Reiders that skate circles , catches people off guard and they get credit they use their home ice advantage of lively boards and a crowd that is very loud even if they are not always sure why they are cheering .....third is a reality check for us this off season we need to get a couple of 20 goal scoring wings from some where , whether it's brodzinki and villardi, FA or a trade kopi/ brown/carter can not be expected to carry the offense all year especially when games like last night where they almost exclusively was the third forward high to get back, the forechecking was working at times but we were almost always out numbered down low limiting chances , understand that's the way we are built and have won and the circumstances this series but hoping Lewis, cliffy, or even Pearson and toffoli forechecking and going to the net gets you one goal in two games and none from the forwards....still haven't given up we should have a little kick at home and have the better talent IMHO Go Kings Go

I did notice last night, they didn't take the net as much as they did the first game, when they do that, they have success, need to get back to that...

NHL got what they wanted. Doughty out. His replacement on the ice for both goals.

Bull**** goaltender interference penalty for their goal.

Vegas is trash. Our full team handles them and I don't even think our full team is great.

Fix is in. Need Doughty to go insane the next two games and dominate.

These lame ass fakers needed double overtime to beat a 40 minute Fantenberg night. Are you kidding me?

They've shown exactly why we wanted them. League has shown the only reason why I was worried.

I have to wonder if we are all watching the same games...

The Kings do not deserve any other results than what they've got. The offense has been putrid. One goal in two game and it's from LaDue?? Getting doubled up on shots and chances??? And you all want to blame the NHL...pathetic.

Our full team is better than these guys and I don't think we are great. Very frustrating.

Kopitar needs to wake up. They can still take this series. Vegas is pretty much garbage. Just a bunch of hard workers. They are up because a 4th line deflection and a trash, unearned power play goal that bounced off the boards.

This feels nothing like 2016

LOL, Vegas is garbage...do you watch the games? VGK is making the Kings look like a minor league team. I wish I could see these games in such a delusional manner, I might enjoy them better.

And yet this powerhouse team has barely scrapped out two wins. You'd think they'd have stomped a hole in the Kings the way you make them sound.

Your right to a degree , we are what we are but 40percent of the dman are hurt and they suspend a non goon for a hit that wasn't even a penalty and his head was in play because he tried to avoid it , and with 50 percent of the dman out the forwards are doing yeomen like work on defense , 3 interference calls on a very aggressive goalie out of his crease makes you wonder and I am not a conspiracy guy but there are two teams playing and not one call on them that is or was fifty fifty , and as far as the offense goes they have two ,this great offensive machine has two, sometimes I wonder if you guys have ever watched playoff hockey live or just on your play stations , tight checking low scoring great goaltending they held serve not we have to Go Kings Go

PS 3 games for a guy who has been suspended three previous times and admitted he meant to deliver his check even though he saw the guy go low is what's pathetic and keeps this sport from being all it could be and how favoritism plays a part

You can thank Quick for that.

I said this before the series started, we have a chance if we see the Kings team that showed up the last two games of the reg season vs VGK. If we see the team that showed up the first two games of the season vs VGK, we are f-ed. Well, it's pretty obvious which team we've seen. VGK has outplayed us, period. Show me one playoff series since 2012 where we've been outplayed but have still won the series? It's not gonna happen. We are where we should be...the effort has been consistent with the results. Maybe things change at home, maybe we get back Doughty and Muzzin back and the tide changes....but I'm not betting on that after what I've seen so far.

We really need to establish more sustained time in Vegas zone. Vegas has been effective in forcing turnovers and establishing sustained pressure in the Kings end. Much more taxing when you are defending in your own end for prolonged stretches of the game.

I would like to see the 5 v 5 numbers for time spent in the offensive zone for both clubs. I would think the Knights have a fairly susbstainial advantage.

One goal in two games, a power play marker, no less is just not good enough. Quick has been terrific thus far. Unfortunate we could not split. Vegas held serve, now it’s our turn to do so.

Hope Muzzin can get back in on Sunday.

Real good game by Fantenberg yesterday minus that pinch in OT.

Axl,

You say that as Quick isn't part of the team? Vegas isn't as bad as some people have made them out to be, they play a very very solid team game, but they don't give off the same vibe as say, COL or WPG does who can come at you wave after wave, or the same vibe as NSH does etc,

Vegas is beatable, last night, with some puck luck, that turns into a 1-1 series, I agree with you, the Kings offensive needs to show up and produce, right now, they are showing up, they are getting chances, they just need to finish them.

Yea, that pinch, man as soon as I saw that, I said holy crap, you can't do that, not in OT, not on the long change.....he got saved by Quick lol

I don't disagree with you on the suspension part...I don't get it. I think it was a bad call. It certainly doesn't help that Muzzin and Forbort are out, but we should have more offense regardless. We just look slow, we are being beat to most pucks....and sorry, but you gotta give credit to VGK. They are hungry and they didn't get to where they are by the NHL making phantom calls all season.
