Nope I think the rule
If the player has control of the puck he can cross the line first without being offsides

Edit found it
Rule 630 b
(b) A player who is actually in possession and control of the puck prior to entering the attacking zone and precedes the puck into the zone is not considered “off-side.”

I want LA to win but how the hell is that going to happen? Theyre getting dominated and outshot 2 to 1.

To start, Drew Doughty is 60% CF despite the hardest matchups and minutes. Getting that guy back is bigger than anyone will make it.

HOPEFULLY adding Muzzin is huge as well. Both those guys can move the puck, Doughty can do everything.

Dunno why anyone's shocked at the shot totals, it was Kings-in-front-of-Budaj hockey where all the forwards are playing hardcore D-first. We were trying to win that game 1-0, 2-1 from the get-go.

Kopitar's not getting paid $10 million to be a good defensive forward.
And Doughty isn’t getting paid 7 million to get suspended, but shit happens and responsibilities change depending on circumstances. If you want Kopitar to focus on offense tonight when we have half our D straight outta the AHL I promise you Vegas would have won long before OT

Fist two games:
Kopitar
0 goals 0 assist
Carter
0 goals 0 assist
Toffoli
0 goals 0 assist
Pearson
0 goals 0 assist
Brown
0 goals 0 assist
Kempe
0 goals 0 assist

Ouch.

At this point I still think Stevens’ best bet is going with a top six of:

Kempe-Kopitar-Brown
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli

Kempe has looked like the only dangerous forward so far while Pearson and Toff only seem to play their best with 77. Carter has been a ghost but I don’t think he’s gonna break out offensively with Rieder and Lewis on his wings. Or just say f*** it and put Carter with Kopitar

Yeah, it's not only the defense that changes but it's the breakouts that are affected. Doughty is the only player on the Kings who consistently gets the puck out of the zone AND on a forwards stick.

Knights through 2 games:
Marchessault =1 point
Neal =1 point
Karlsson= 0 points
Tatar= 0 points
Tuch= 1 point
Smith= 1 point
Eakin= 0 points

Even Doughty's biggest critics in the east begrudgingly admit he's the best transition D in the NHL...even more so than Karlsson. That's a huge loss. Muzzin too. Big reasons the play gets moving up ice.

Can't get a true read on it. Knew they would go in a shell tonight and the offense is going to suffer greatly without Doughty and Muzzin moving the puck.

But Vegas is a fraud. Hope SJ wins so I don't have to sweat the Ducks out.

Kopitar can't do it all. He's having to carry the puck way more without Doughty and Muzzin. It all starts with the breakout. Go watch the cup teams and watch the puck support and how much faster they look because of it.

That seems to be the biggest issue, no clean breakout to our forwards. This is where both Muzzin and Doughty are missed. When it did happen [which was very few times], we got scoring chance because of the clean breakouts.

I've always said Muzzin's outlet passes are the best on the Kings. Problem is that he connects at a 40% rate. Doughty gets it to the forward with speed but it's rarely the forward on the far side of the ice that has a lane. Muzzin gets it to all 3 guys right on point if he actually can get it there.

Ahhhh I understand we're all upset but it is what it is folks. Injuries, lack of depth, BS suspension. My goodness can't believe I'm gonna say this but with Muzzin and Doughty in I Think we have a better chance. Kopi has done as much as he can but without any depth we're just not gonna win.

Nope. So can Muzzin. I said we were f***ed when he went down, let alone losing Doughty for a game.

League is happy. All that matters. Makes me want to cancel my seats.

Well, yeah, Muzzin can but he's just not consistent as I pointed out.

Proud of the boys for gutting this thing out tonight and showing some real pride. I've heard, and probably have projected myself, a lot of trash thrown Vegas way but that team isn't backing down. They are confident and fast and have a goalie arguably even more decorated and accomplished than Quick.

Despite this, Quick had one of the top 5 performances of his career. He will have a jersey hanging at Staples one day

Lots to be optimistic about heading home. The core of this team has given me enough reason to believe. And that's what I'll do.

Our full team is better than these guys and I don't think we are great. Very frustrating.

Kopitar needs to wake up. They can still take this series. Vegas is pretty much garbage. Just a bunch of hard workers. They are up because a 4th line deflection and a trash, unearned power play goal that bounced off the boards.

This feels nothing like 2016

I'm still waiting for Carter to actually get a quality scoring chance. The only time I've seen anything close was when his shot was blocked either in game one or two. He's been a serious non factor so far.

Craziest thing to me is with how aggressive Vegas is playing they haven’t had a bad pinch or a puck bounce over their stick or a forward get stuck playing D

Vegas has had some bad pinches.

The difference is Vegas has tremendous team speed to get back and break up plays.
